Well sweating has subsided been on treatment since thursday feeling great
havent had the urge to use even once since starting!!!!
cant wait to start tapering off though then the work begins!!!!
I plan on staying on for a month then start to taper off till I am off Everything
Just like anything else you will go through withdrawals you just have to deal with it the best way you can
If I didn't get on Suboxone when I did I would have lost everything my apartment, job etc.
everything I worked so hard for. This will keep a needle out of my arm and be able to work and save money again.
Yes I know it is just a crutch, but I had been clean for 8 years prior I know the tools and what I need to do to stay clean. this 2nd time is a lot harder than the first time cleaning up, mind you I was in jail and had to go ct!!!! sure it was hell but I made it through and when I got out found a recovery house to live in for a year and AA/NA meetings to go too. but now I am on my own and things are different my addict is in full "out of control" mode and I feel Suboxone will keep me off drugs and get some normality back and a routine again. I have not used since last Wednesday and have not had the urge since starting Suboxone!!! my plan is to stay on the 8mg for a month then start the tapering process with my doctor I will listen to my doctor as it seems everyone on here has some kind of "opinion" on this drug and withdrawing of it. everyone is different and I know my body and with the watchful eye of my doc things will go well I have her email address and been in contact with here everyday since I started Sub she is GREAT!!!
I'm just going to throw in a few words and warnings about Sub. Myself and my 2 sisters have been on Sub for about 3 yrs +. It can be a great tool for some, but it is extremely addictive. If you plan on taking it for only a short time, after the first 2 weeks, I would highly recommend dropping down as low as possible ( 1-2 mgs daily?). The more you take, the longer you will need to taper. I started at 8 mgs a day and it has taken 2+ yrs. to get to 1 mg a day without any withdrawals. It's the initial first month- 6 weeks that will set the pace of your taper, and the last 1 mg is the hardest. Suboxone does work, just be aware of what you must go threw to get off it. Good luck to all.
It will defiantly get rid of the cravings I have had none since I have started
as well I feel great other than the sweats but I am confident they will pass
you will get your life back with this I am sure.
I do not plan on staying on this for long just want to get some normality in my life for a while then I am weaning of this and be free of everything!!!
I was so stupid to start using again after being clean for 8 years but that is addiction for you cunning, baffling, powerful!!!
I have been reading all I can on suboxone. Sweating and claminess were listed as side affects. I am going to a dr on Monday for suboxone treatment. I am scared but the benefits sound so promising. I came off vics and somas 25 each in April after 16 yrs. I made it 2 months and felt so bad, I strarted taking low doses of vics and darvocets just to get out of bed. I tired of being sick and tired. I want my life back. I hope the suboxone can take away the cravings. I am craving so so so bad.
sweating has subsided, so must have been getting used to my dose.
feel great no urge to use, no wd
going to stay on this for a month then start the weaning process to get off so everything will be a breeze.
Good hun, and since the HIV I would definitely contact your doctor. There could be a side effect there.
Let us know how you make out.
I am aware of the mental stuff been in NA/AA for the 8 years I was clean and have a counseling session next week
I am HIV+ as well so maybe that may be it
but I will defiantly contact my doc about it.
other than the clamminess I feel just fine on the Suboxone totally normal, and no WD or feelings of using!!!
Hi & Welcome,
You asked a lot questions. Let me try and answer what I can. Other members will come in and help too.
No, you should not have sweats or a clammy feeling. Call your prescribing doctor and let him know what is going on.
I don't know your history but hopefully the doctor does. I heard that it was approved I believe in 2008 in Canada so I assumed it was covered.
Okay, here is the deal: You are taking care of the physical withdrawal. After that you are going to go through some mental stuff so talk with your doctor and see if he offers counseling, if not..find an outside support group. I cannot tell you how important this will be for you.
I am glad you found your way here and hope you stick around.
