How do you know if your boy/girlfriend is using cocaine or is bipolar?

Hi,
I think my children's father is using cocaine and I think its the reason for his bad/short temper. We were dating for like three years before the relationship ended. At first everything was going fine and he was everything to me. Also I must admit that we did smoke tree together; but I still don't think that tree would have these affects on an individual. I guess I started to notice that he had a temper. He would simply just get real irritated with me, which well result in him leaving. One time I can remember we were going to the mail. From the lot a call came in on his cell phone. He said that he would call the person back. Once in the store of the mall we separated. Once we found each other again he was furious that I made him lose some money. Next he stormed out of the store. I am not used to this behavior and it is just very weird. Another incident would be the last and this is how we separted for good.  One day while at work my ex boyfriend called me accusing me of sleeping with one of his friends. I denied it and by that time I was just fed up with him anyway. So he asked if I could pick him up from the airport? I said maybe not because I get too late. So he had his uncle pick him up. I told him that I would see him after work and also i'm stop by Pick'N Save ( a grocery store). I left work to go the grocery store like 5 blocks away. As I was walking out the store when done with shopping; I noticed a guy in a car that liked just like my ex's uncle. He was yelling at my ex to turn around. My ex turned around and asked to ride with me home. I said yes (I had a gut feeling). He got in and started yelling calling me names. Next he started hitting me and this went on for blocks while I was driving. Until I saw a cop and pulled him over. He went to jail and I pressed charges. He pled guilty. My ex was very excited-like and just pumped up like this **** was real! I still don't know what he was thinking. His family all make strange comments about him. His grandma told me that she hope I stay. What ever that means? His sister is on cocaine really bad(she doesn't have her kids). His grandma also said that she visited on day and walked in and saw her friend's nose in a plate of it. But he never can just set around and be ok. He's aways on the move. And as I said before he is violent. He used to could tolerate my parents but now he can't stand it. Or should I say for a period of time. He gets very anxious. Another thing he does is that he'll say something to start an aurguement just to leave and when he comes back he's calmed down. He doesn't know that I know what crack smells like but (I have never used it, a line or nothing) one day he came in smelling like that. I thought he does stay with her so maybe it was her that was doing it. And also I've met two of his friends. but as much as he say he's by a friend's I'm never invited. I mean I could think he was cheating but his temper/behavior/and being violent is realy bad. One time he didn't have a car, so I was a little (5-10min) late picking him up. Oh my god he was very upset. I mean like he could of tore my head off right there. Like he was waiting or anticipating something. As a result of all this odd behavior our family separted. And I don't think it'll ever be the same again. Cocaine or bipolar or something else?

my ex went completely nuts on me, ended up breaking my nose and slashing me with a machete...he went to jail and now i have a restraining order against him.

he was totally normal when i met him....he did not have a cocaine problem in fact the only drug that he did was smoke trees....he barely even drank.  and we lived together i would have seen if he was doing cocaine.

i have no idea why my ex deteriorated in the way he did to this day.  some people have anger issues and sometimes they don't surface for years....but it may have just always been in him.

No, we are separted and have been for two years. I have always just wondered about how he acted and what was really going on because I knew it wasn't me. And the situation my have seemed crazy or wild but it goes on everyday. I'm pretty sure alot of people felt bad for Rihanna. And chris may not be on drugs but its obvious that you can see that he has a problem. I just wanted some advice. The most important point that one one brought up is that I'm glad I'm gone from that relationship. Nothing is bipolar about that.

Hard to say what is all going on but i would recommend some sort of counseling for all of you.  If he is hitting you then you need to get out ASAP........sara

from the situations that you have described above...it's not possible to judge whether or not your b/f has a drug problem...and we sure cant tell you if he is bipolar...sorry :(

not everyone with a temper is on drugs.

"Next he started hitting me and this went on for blocks while I was driving."  STAY AWAY FROM HIM...you do not deserve to be hit...good riddance.
