Concerned Father to be

My wife found out that she is pregnant with our second child on fathers day this year. she was having slight cramps in her lower abdomin and was very nautious. she started having a few drops of blood when she urinated. we got concerned and went to the ER. they said she had a cyst on her left ovary and a bladder infection. they gave her antibiotics and nausia meds and oxycodone and dilated shot. the oxycodone is a low dose but with her being in her first trimester and them giving her narcotics im a bit worried it can hurt the baby. someone please let me know something. thank you.

Hello and congratulations ! It is prescribed, the doctor knows she is pregnant. Yes many other woman take oxys during pregnancy for pain and the baby is fine. It is prescribed for the cyst and infection pain? How long did they give it to her for?

As long as the doctor is OK with the meds, it should be fine.  Be honest with them about your concerns so they can support you with the info you need to understand.  A lot of mothers use oxy during pregnancy  (with dr. approval) and the babies are fine.  Talk to your doctor about your concerns.  I hope others can visit with more info.  Congrats on the baby, so sorry your wife is having to deal with all this medical stuff at the same time!
