I thought you couldnt withdrawl from quitting crack?

Ive smoked crack almost every day for the past year and a half. I moved across the country, and left my habit elsewhere. IIve been told crack cocaine addiction is a mental addiction, and your body couldnt show signs of physical withdrawls. Well 10 days without smoking ...anything at all, I wake up with the WORST back pain ive EVER HAD. My family has bad back problems, as do I, but NEVER anything like this. I got a massage, and my dad told me he could feel practically EVERY muscle in my back was completly knottted up, Ive been alternating between hot (heating pad) and cold (ice) for the past 13 hours, and nothing is seeming to help. All of a sudden..well gradually for the past few hours, Ive been getting a fever. It spiked up from 102.00 ( in 10 minutes) to 102.9. I dont feel like im Withdrawling, I dont feel sick, but EVERYTHING HURTS SO BAD. And its not getting better. My question is.. WHATS WRONG WITH ME ! ( fyi- i have no std's... just incase that matters!!!)
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!

I agree with cathys post. Be careful about thinking you left that "habit" behind. The problem with moving away from addiction is that you"ll always bring the addict along,,gl

im not as well informed as Gizzy LOL, but the back pain wuz prolly there before but numbed by crack. as far as real physicall their is none. you may have the fever , i have had a slight one the first few dayz clean, but all da rest is mostly the dope tryin to make ya feel like **** so you will turn back to the dope, feel me?
smokin coke results in us losing our ability to cope wit eva day emotions, and stress. coke will trick ya into thinkin ya need to smoke it to feel normal again.but ya need to know that you WILL feel betta quick. your energy will pick up, the fog will rise, and ya will see wut life is like clean again. as for the whole , im done , neva again thing, i like that attitude. but please realize coke is a very mentally tough drug to quit, and relapses do happen. so if they do, don let em setcha back!! jus keep ya chin up n keep kickin the **** outta that habit! btw- im a 25 year crack smoker, daily for alot of that, and this site rox!!! much love and many prayers

Crack withdrawal symptoms include but are not limited to:

agitation
depression
intense craving for the drug
extreme fatigue
anxiety
angry outbursts
lack of motivation
nausea/vomiting
shaking
irritability
muscle pain
disturbed sleep

this is an evil drug and as a coke addict although i did not smoke it, i do understand the power of mental addiction and i hope u stick around here for some kind of support. im glad your giving it up and proud of you, but it's not that easy, there will be times when u will crave it and those cravings are very powerful and make u sick.  your right, crack is fuckin wakkk and very tough to beat. u can do this. best of luck to ya

I went to the Dr. , and it turns out, I had a severe Kidney infection and was really really dehydrated. Though I hadn't stopped drinking what I usually had, I guess my body needed way more. He said I'm lucky I went in when I did because it was pretty bad. Ive never had one of these before... I think its safe to say what caused it, was... the accumulation of ALOT of drugs in my system, my body trying to de-tox itself for 10 days and successfully doing so.. All I know man .... crack is fcukin wakkkk!!!!!!

There is a very good reason why pharmaceutical coke from Merck Sharp and Dohm has a poison label on it.....

Really is mental.....Think about the act of smoking crack.....you want satisfaction right away....so now your body and mind are missing it....it will be a short time....but seems long to you because the mental part of smoking crack makes "time feeling bad" seem alot longer...

Bet you feel way better in 2 days.....

Good Luck..... You have done good in stopping the most evil thing known to man.....You can do it....

And you may be looking at potassium depletion.that would explain muscle aches everywhere - but not the temp....coke takes a lot from you for what it gives back - - maintain high nutrition = even if ensure or similar product is all you use...do the supplements and vitamins and especially the amino's - - banannas are good for grazing and potassium.....

hun, why don't you go to the ER?  if you feel that sick?

indeed the flue can cause all those symptoms.  and i don't know about crack, but i have to imagine your body is going to react if you used daily for a year and a half, then quit cold turkey...

but honestly, you may just have the flue...

get in a cool bath.  cool down your fever... and if it gets worse, please go see a doctor...

cocaine is a mental addiction.  maybe you have a flu or virus.  the fever can also make your back hurt really bad.  mental cravings are the thing that causes relapse with coke addiction.  sorry you are going through this.  hope you get better soon.
