Forgetting The High !

I think one of the reasons I often relapsed is.... I remember the high. It was always fresh in my memory.  I have been on sub for almost 2 months and I am finding that I am forgetting it.  It's kinda hard to explain.  I have heard everyone on sub say, it takes your cravings away (and it does) but in the beginning you still kinda think about it because the memory is fresh in your head. I am on 2 mg and think I'm gonna take it down to 1 1/2 today.   I guess having a bad memory can be good in a way. lol    I just wanted to keep everyone updated on my progress on Suboxone.

Congratulations!!  I am glad that you are doing so well.  I have to agree it is hard to stop when you remember the high as this wonderful experience.  Worried, that is a great idea.  A lot of bad s**t has come out of taking the meds for me, so I will have to post all the negative experiences.  Good Job again Mary.

Mary u r such a great part of the foruma and u remind me of someone who is very strong...I also crave the high at times and wonder if t is because as time goes by, i am choosing to remember the good and forgetting the bad...I am acyualy thinking about postin bad experiences around my house as reminders...like "remember that time u"  lol

I guess if theirs one positive thing about methadone it is the fact that I stopped craving pills, its been 4 years since I have touched oxys & Im down to 2mgs of methadone & dont crave anything except staying drug free, so I guess Im on the right path? Penelope

I too remember the high but what sticks in my mind is just taking them to function. No high just pills. Not how I want to live. Mary, you are doing so good.

Gizzy, I hope you are feeling better. Try Ibuprofen, it might just work as well as the pills, really.

havent seen you post in a while...maybe you should go back to training if time off isnt serving you any good....or find another thing to occupy your time.
i know you have done so well with this, and would hate to see any progress made, be diminished because of boredom.  staying busy really does help!

Mary, i just dropped 2 mgs off my dose 6 days ago now, day 3 and 4 i felt tired, but bot sure if it was due to the drop in dose or if i was fighting off a cold?, my boys were sick all last week,  so just take your time hun and if .5 is too much too son try just cutting back 2.5....you will know in 3-4 days if it was too much too quick...
good luck hun, your a strong lady and i know you will do well because your educated about suboxone, that helps too.

forgetting the high?  what high?  LOL!   i know exactly what you mean and feel...its a great feeling to not feel that or want it anymore...xo

thats one thing i'm battling right now...  those friggin cravings!
i have been clean for more than 9 weeks now, have absolutely no withdrawals, BUT memories of that high are constantly bombing me... i have more time on my hands because i took a month off of training, bad move on my part, and it seems like being bored is screwing me up..

don't work too hard mary. i hate remembering the high, but that definately diminishes with time. you have done great, keep it up
