Thank You for the inspiration!!! I'am so glad u flushed them, That takes strength! I'am 21 days today & am living & loving every moment I can. Keep up the wonderful job & Congrats!!!
Wow, good for you!!!! I too stumbled upon an Oxy today but wasn't as strong as you are :( I was 5 days clean today until I found that little devil pill, and now I am zero. Keep up the good work :)
Yes I know have the strenght to flush today, but in the beginning I didn't. I as you in the beginning of my journey (28 days) found a couple of percs and unfortunately did not flush them because I convinced myself I needed them. We all go through that, but the good news is that with aftercare you can learn how to deal with those kinds of situations. I wish you great success on your journey to sobriety and just keep it up. BTW you are not at 0 days clean you are 5 days minus 1. I will pray for you God Bless---Rick
Blessing recieved here & thanks for sharing your story Rick. I found an old pill once and studied it, I was curious & amused that it felt the same as looking at an old photo album, sweet & sour memories of a friendship that had turned toxic, one that had to be left in the past, no fighting, no enemies, just releasing & making peace with. I kept that old pill around for quite some time...
What a great and true post! Last weekend I was cat sitting and opened the neighbor's drawer to get a spoon and all their medication was there including a bottle of hydro's. I actually picked up the bottle, counted the pills, look at the freakin expiration date and got an immediate hot flash and tummy issues. If not for my med help support system I would have caved, and I have several months clean. I immediately left the neighbors house, text 2 friends and told them what was up. They shot back 30 good reasons why not to take that "one" pill which included the humiliation of my neigh finding out etc. I had to fight hard and give you so much credit for flushing. I almost flushed pills that weren't mine ha! Melissa, don't sweat this slip. Tomorrows a new day, sometimes a relapse even slight is a affirmation that we can't fight this disease on our own. Thanks again for a good reminder of what a support system no matter what it is will keep us on track. xx
A great reminder for everyone Rick! Once upon a time, I would have caved, too!
Love to you and Ash...
loved that you almost flushed their pills. They would have never believed that story1 Yeah, my dog ate my homework! Good for you. Scary moment and good recover!
wow 1/2 bottle! Scary times. Good for you! Flushing is big and wonderful! That damn road moves and curves and gives us big boulders and rivers to climb and cross over. Keep up the good work.
Such a shock when you find them, isn't it? Like running into an ex. I found 3 the other day and flushed them. Took two tries, lol! Anyway, not sure I could have done it in the beginning. Great job getting rid of them. Felt pretty good, didn't it, because you are in control, not the stupid pills! :D
Luckily there were only 8 pills and the expiration was 12/2/08! Had there been more and a more recent expiration date, God only knows. (nothing like an anal, picky addict...ha!)
hey we gotta pick our boundaries! LOL
What a sic bunch we are.....Hey, if ya can't laugh.....
HEY Rick good to see you and great job getting rid of the pills best wishes to you and your family your doing great Dude......Gnarly
When I was using I wish that I had forgotten where I had stashed stuff so I could find it unexpectedly. Lol, rest assured I always knew where my dope was. Props for flushing them. I have actually seen other ppl do my doc in front of me and was able to turn it down. It's a hard thing to do but at some point in recovery I think we realize that we don't want to walk down that path again knowing exactly where it leads
