Congrats on 10 days Jlann!
I am on day 9 and I'm feeling pretty great! I was taking 4-5 10/325s a day for about a year, and binging on and off for about 4 years prior to that. Physical w/d was hell, but I'm feeling a lot better now and ready to battle the mental & emotional aspect of my addiction. After a lot of soul searching, I have put together a five step plan to kick this addiction. Here is my plan, for what it's worth to you or any one else.
1. Detox/don't use
Pretty obvious if u want to live a great life u have to get off these toxic drugs.
2. Repair the physical damage.
Do something to repair the physical damage to the body such as going to the gym, horseback riding, etc.
3. Repair the mental damage.
Challenge the brain with something new like playing the guitar or chess etc. to occupy the mind.
4. Repair the emotional damage.
Accepting that u have a problem and making amends with those that have been affected by your addiction heals the soul and strengthens the spirit. Spend more time with loved ones.
5. Do something for someone that is of no benefit to yourself.
Volunteering is a great way to repair your psyche and keep u on a path of putting others needs before your own.
I am new at this but so far my life has been a complete 180 turnaround. Good luck to you!

congrats to you on 10 days clean!!!! I read your post about how much you were spending on the dope and I can so relate to that. I remember wondering
where the heck all my money was when I would try and pay my bills. Wow,
things are so different now. at 45 days I'm getting my morning energy back and really starting to feel good. Keep on truckin....I'm so happy you're here sharing your journey with all of us.
Congrats jlann!!;) it's all about keeping busy for then next couple weeks to push through those "early-on" cravings you mentioned. Keep posting so we can see you ur progress!
Congrats on 10 days clean!! You are doing great! Living in the moment is important as that is all we have. Exercising and staying busy really helps with the cravings.
Good luck, You certainly have the right attitude, and that will help you succeed. Getting away from those who use removes a large source of temptation, while an activity like horseback riding provides a good source of the natural high one gets from those types of activities.
Keeping as active as possible really helps you get past the psychological part of addiction, you simply do not have time to sit and let your brain try convince you of it's desire for opiates.
Keep up the good work!
Day 10 for me too. Boy do I feel good. The wd symptoms were really bad this time.I realized how close to being homeless i was.Slept in my vehicle 1 night as I did not want my family to see my condition. I did the Imodium, vitamins, lots of fluids, hot showers. Lots of soul searching. Reading the forum really helped. I have my first counseling session tomorrow to try to find out why I keep going back.Right now I feel very strong resistance toward the vics but I want to not give in in the future. Stay strong , it so worth getting away from the pills.
