Day 5

First let me say I feel pretty good today...actually think I am starting to feel like I did before I started 1.5 years ago....I know that I am stronger than the pills NOW bcuz I was cleaning out my gym bag and found 2 lortab 10s that were in the bottom....I just kinda laughed as I picked them up and walked straight to the sink to dissolve them down the drain....NEVER once thought about taking them...I have moments that are rough but I just go and find my 2 daughters and that's all I need to see to know why I did it.....YOU PEOPLE ARE GREAT!!!!....I would add that when you get ready to quit set ur mind to NOTHING will stop me...that's my opinion and it worked for me ok

I am liking the way of thinking about it in dog years ....man I am alot farther along than I thought.....next week I will be close to a year...hell yeah...LOL

I'm glad you used caps when you wrote "stronger than the pills NOW", implying, I hope, that you're aware that things can change in the blink of an eye. We are never stronger than the addiction; we learn to fight it, take steps to contain it, but that's about all we can hope for. The second you let your guard down - think you've got this - then you set yourself up to relapse.
Great job on days clean and getting rid of the pills.

To me the key has been to stay busy...not give myself time to even think and HOPEFULLY that will accomplish 2 things.....keep me from wanting and wear myself out to sleep....so far so good

I stood there the entire time and watched them melt down the drain....and yes it felt great to know I won that battle with those lil devils....I know there will be days that aren't so good but I am looking at it like this...EVERYONE has bad days....when most people have a stressful day they hope for a better one tomorrow ....I will try that method and not try to make a bad day into a good day by masking my problems with pills
