How do you deal with the future in pain

Got up this morning and was thinking about my life ...work, Suboxone..pain killers...and pain. It depresses me to think about it.
What do you do when you're in constant pain, and your job makes it worse, but you love what you do and you have to work. My biggest trigger is pain. I'm on Suboxone and I still get cravings, not for the high, but for the relief from pain. Whats gonna happen when I'm off the Suboxone. I've tried everything for pain and nothing really helps...even the pain killers, unless I take tons of them.  I'm not gonna go back to useing, it just takes to many to even dull the pain. So useing again is not an option.  Most days I accept that this is just how it's gonna be. But some days are harder than others.  I know there is no answer to this, I'm just venting. Thanks for listening.

if your not getting much in the way of relief now with the sub...raising it to a higher dose really wont help...i tried it...i think this may also be where the "ceiling effect" of sub also plays a role?...i feel the same at 12-14-16 mgs and even when i was at the 32 mgs, no difference pain wise...
i started neurontin about 2 weeks ago, but i guess it can take up to 3 weeks to get the full benefit of that too...i'll let you know....
right now i'm not feeling too bad with the prednisone, but i know that will end soon, you cant take that long...UGH!
i have foot problems too hun and was supposed to have surgery about 4 years ago...but i opted out of it, its when i was using and the doctor told me, "well if you want pain relief and pills, get the surgery and i will give you all the pills you need"...even though i was still using, i never went back to that a**hole...d***head!!
no way is he going to operate on my feet, i'll pass!

and tell mary...we will be getting a new president, hopefully one who cares, so that part is not too far from a  fairytale...LOL!
the insurance...well we will all have to wait and see, lets keep our fingers crossed!!!

I live the same and dealing with this slowly. I broke my back and have a six stell rods, plates and screws( That is why I always feel screwed LOL) to keep my back from giving out on me they somehow put these metal deals thatr I guess sort a rebuild the vertabrae or stabalize the others around it. Any way sorry for blabbing. I also deal with chronic pain and lose of tons of mibility anymore 70 percent the doctor said I don't know exactly how much I just know alot. I am just taking it as it comes day to day and I guess I will deal with it after I detox . I can't blame anyone elase for me abusing morphine and oxys so much and going off the deep end so I am going to have to learn a new way. I think maybe my body can adjust or something. We shall see. Take it slowly day to day.

A guy a grew up with had a bad dirt bike accident that left him in horrible pain.. he has a morphine pump under his skin and even in bad eppisodes he can call the dr that is out of state and dr can phone or log into machine to give him addition meds.. I am on the duragesic patch.. I dont know if you want to try one of those options... I am ready for a hip replacment and being free of pain meds myself.. taken them for years ane now weaning off the patch to get ready for surgery.. I hope that helps.. some options.. I did realize what a short half life the patch has ane how much easier it is to come off of ubtil I came here.. just have to wean slooow..

r2r....My doc told me tramadol was non narcotic.  I found out the hard way that it does nto mean it is not addicting.  I know you are smart, but, make sure you investigate before you put one in your mouth...I know you are cautious, just wanted to throw that out at you

OK  this is whats gonna happen.  We get a new president.  He or she gets us universal health care.  You have insurance and have the surgery to fix your feet. The pain goes away and all live happily ever after.
Don't any one say it......I've already been told I live in fairyland. lol

I often think of that myself...Where is your pain?  I have been dealing with alot of lower back pain, i have 2 hernitated disc...I have not posted alot about that because i dont' like to whine...lol...Now i also take celebrex  that helps some...I do get angry because i wish i could take pain meds right, but i can't and i just have to deal with it...
Now , if ever i am real bad pain, i will never let myself stay that way, but will have to give them to my husband...HOPEFULLY that day never comes..
Venting is good, and that is what we are all here for...
Also, i am looking into other different meds, the orthropedic gave me a list of other non narcotic pain meds....They have more then you can imagine...i hear that lyrica is a good one, and may try that one next...
Magi, right now just try to take one day at a time...but i do know pain is hard to deal with, so i am praying for you my friend
hugs

Oh, girl, I know your pain.  My doctors told me to quit my job.  I cant do that.  I am looking into natural things.  I dont know the cause of your pain.  Is it joint pain, arthritic?  I know that msm used consistantly helps with joint pain.  I have taken it and it did help.  Unfortunately, I took the Tramadol because it was cheeper and easier.  I am going to go back on the natural stuff.
Yoga is supposed to help too, with stress and pain.  My physical therapist recommended that too.  Again, unfortunately, I started on the meds and nixed the yoga.
