Day 7-Opiate Detox

Well, I'm currently on day 7 of my detox & I feel GREAT!! I don't have ANY energy, but I'm not feenin for the tabs. I was yesterday bcuz my back & head was killing me! But, those feelings come & go. I was wondering if anyone knew if one day, I could take a tab (compared to the 10-20 I'd take for a buzz) & not get addicted again..??? I don't wanna b to the point of where I'll never be able 2 take another pill ever again-I want 2 b able 2 have enough willpower & be a 'norrmal' functioning person. Any advice? Will that ever happen?

I have been able to take a pill and then not take any for a month. I needed those pills for pain. If I have terrible pain, I still have some and have had them for maybe 6 months and haven't abused them. If you already know you are an addict, then you answered your question. I took less than prescribed, not more, so maybe that's the difference.  But I was scared too. I was on ultram and got off and took them 2 days in a row and then stopped for probably over a month.

I wonder the same thing every day.  I'm 32 days.  I still think I can do a couple & not get hooked again, but everyone here says it can't be done.

Sure would like to know if anyone has successfully been able to take a couple, then go back to clean life.

Congrat's on day 7 !  Sorry but the chances of you just taking a few here and there are 0 to none.  Thats what makes us addict's. We can't just take one or two.   There might come a point in your life when you absoloutley must take them, suregery etc. , but even then I would be very very careful.

Good luck...isn't  that how we started down this path???

If you something happens where you really need pain meds...then maybe someone would have to hold the Rx for you and give you only as prescribed...but i would try to go another route first!!!

It doesn't have anything  to do w/ willpower..if it did i wouldn't be on this forum in the first place...but i'm glad i am...you people keep me moving forward!!!!
