Lortab Addiction....

Okay... Long story, Ill try to shorten.. I got out of the Military March of this year.. I joined because In highschool I was on drugs.. (coke, weed, even crack..) My best buddy who lived next door got out of rehab and got me addicted.. and I joined the Army and got clean.. Okay.. I got hurt when I was deployed to Afghan.. I've been on Lortab 10's since I got out march I get 180 a month... BUT.. I run out fast (I take 18 - 22 lortab 10's at a time now...) I know it's A LOT! When I don't take any, My back hurts.. My actual back pain is gone.. I think it's the pills messing with my mind?? can anyone tell me the best way to stop... I'm sick of throwing up.. not eating... and eating so many pills... I feel like such a loser.. I blow lots of money on pills... I been throwing up blood too.. I mean.. if I keep this up I know i'm going to die.. I'm 22 years old.. I just need some support and if anyone could tell me a really good way to quit I'd REALLY appreciate it! i mean 200MG of Hydrocodone is REDICILOUS! please.. any advice would be MUCH appreciated...

IMHO, you need to realize that no one else can get you addicted. We do this to ourselves.

But what is scaring me, it the thowing up of blood.  I think you need to get medical treatment and perhaps go to a detox center where you can be monitored and helped in the correct way.  It sounds like your situation is pretty serious, medically.

Please, you are so young, you have so much ahead of you.  I know it's hard.  I could be your Mom, and I got hooked on them too. If  you were my child, I would want  you free of this stuff and safe.

Yes.. But I go to college.. I use my GI Bill... And If I go to a detox it will interfere.. And I will get dropped and everything I worked for to get this I will loose.. It's not a lot of blood, It's when I clear my throat after I puke.. I know if I quit It'll get better.. It's the Acedimetofin(spelling?) that's eating away at my insides.. I get really bad cramps.. I mean.. I just want to quit.... I can't go to a rehab or anything.. If I do my parents would.... WOULD Disown me... After my last addiction, They said, "we are so proud of you for joining the Army, fixing yourself.. and going clean; Also fighting for our freedom, we are the most proud parents ever. However, If you become addicted to anything, or ever abuse any drugs, you're cut off & out of the will." I just got outta the Army March like I said.... and I live with them.. They'll kick me out and I'll be homeless.... SO I can't..... And I know it's MY fault for putting the stuff (before I joined the Army [years ago] coke, and even smoking the crack, stealing over $3000.00 from my parents) But however, I would not have done it if he hadn't introduced me to it.... I take responsibilities for my actions, I'm a man, I've learned a lot from the Army life, I've seen a lot also... I had to pick up my best friends body parts, and his life-less torso... I just need some advice to STOP taking 18 Tabs at a time.. please!? anything.... Much thanks for the reply RitzBitz <3

It wont matter if you are dead.
If you are taking 18-22 lortab at a time (how many times per day?) I would say you wont see 23. You can at least cut down drastically, that is a death sentence. You also seem to have an excuse for everything. You need to own this and do something about it. Go see a Dr. and be honest. I wish you best of luck and God Bless.

Also, once you get through with the short term problem of quitting, you need to get aftercare. Being a veteran entitles you to the best of care. Dude, you are taking lethal amounts (if your post is correct) and are rolling the dice each time you do. You need to have blood work to ck your liver and other vital organs before it is too late. This is an emergency and should be treated as such. Concerned.

Do you have anyone that you could trust to hold the pills for you? I don't know too many people who have successfully tapered..it is very hard to do but you are on a dangerous path and I think anything at this point would benefit you.

Hope you come back.

Yeah thanks for all the replies.. I'm sure if  I can quit coke, and other things I can quit this, It's just the pain thing, And yes.. 18 - 22 at a time. I know it's deadly ammounts, BUT if I don't take that many the pain doesn't go away and the high doesn't come, I used to take them for the pain, But now for the high... I just want to quit... Thanks everyone for your advice.. God bless

It looks like it hasn't been replied to since 10/26 so it just got pushed off the front page.  When that happens people just don't see it.  Its really nothing against you.  I've seen you posting alot lately and have been trying to keep up with your progress.

Some people on here feel you can transfer the dependence on pills to alcohol and that may very well be true for some.  I think it depends on the person.  I don't care too much for alcohol.  Never have but I know a lot of people do so be careful about that.

Aren't you about a week along now?  You should be feeling pretty good now.  How are you doing.

OMG, the amount of acetaminophen is going to eat your liver alive!  Tylenol is a very dangerous drug, reknowned for killing livers.  Get thee to a doc hence, friend!
