Medical Detox, works?

This is a lot of good information and I was looking to go to a place, but my wife doesn't think it actually works.  I've been on Norco 10/325 for a year... I shattered my elbow and have had four surgeries.  The last surgery on December 22nd has taken the painful implants out and I want off this stuff ASAP.  I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but my body is dependent at this point.  I quit cold turkey after my second surgery not knowing how bad it was going to be (never taken anything like this before), but had to go back on after the third.  I have one more refill of 40 and my wife thinks I should taper, but I'm not sure I can with that amount, plus, if I can get it done without the symptoms in 3-5 days then I would rather do that.  The question I have is how was it once you got home?  Any symptoms of withdraw?  Or did it actually work?  TIA.

Hi Johnny,  there is an Expert side of the Forum. There an MD answers questions.
Personally, due to health reasons, I've gone off opioids on a Taper & all at once. Cold Turkey.  You will experience pain & sufferings no matter which way you go. Did your Doctor say, ok 40 pills & no more?
Most of the community members favor CT.
Some people are so physically healthy, they rebound quickly. It's when you have a mental dependence & are self medicating a. Mental disorder, that's where severe problems arise.   Pamela
