Hi..I want to welcome you too! We do have a lot of people that came of the H that they used for MANY Years..BUT no matter what we used, we all have a Addiction issues..This being a Brain disease it can not ever be cured, but can be put in remission with LOTS of work for the rest of our lives. Stick around and we will hold your hand all the way through the detox, but then it is up to you to go out and get that aftercare..You can also stay here for all the Support you need and to also help the next one that comes along. Wishing you the Best!
Bless

Hi there and welcome to the forum!

Glad you found us.....and you are SO right.....as far as I'm concerned this is the best addiction recovery forum in the WORLD....LOL

You can do this.....and it's better to avoid the suboxone route anyhow.....I have more than one friend here that wishes, in hindsight, that they had just come off the H and skipped the subs.

At the bottom of this page are some "Most Viewed Health Pages".....you can read them and click "more" to read any or all of them.  The Re-Posted Thomas Recipe is a really good thing to read....and gives you some things to do, eat, drink, buy or take to make the w/drawal process a little easier.

I hope you'll get in touch with Mamaof4410 above......at least private message her.....she's been thru this once before....and is now clean again just like you.  I think you two may have some things in common.

You say you don't have a clue what took you back.....but it's usually a trigger of some kind (stress in particular)...and then associating with people who still use....or returning to places we associate with using.  If not one of those.....it's trying to do it alone and not going to any type of aftercare.
Those are HUGE........we can't just take the drug away and not learn new ways of thinking and living......as addicts we NEED some recovery tools in our tool boxes (for life)~  Best wishes....glad you're aboard~

First off welcome to MH!
Second...im also a recovering heroin addict. 79 days. You have to surrender to the wd's. If you have a friend or family that does not use go to their house and have them help with your baby. My husband and I have 5 kids and im 26. I tried over and over again to get clean and I failed. After the wd's after care is crucial. If you want to inbox me and ill give u my cell number. I know all to well where you are. Wd's scared the crap outta me. Then I was given a choice...heroin or my family and sobriety. You have to be ready to stop.
Your little boy should be enough motivation to get clean and stay clean. You have to have support and cut everyone out of your life that uses.
I went thru about 5 days of the really bad detox. You feel like your dying...your not. Just remember it does get better. Inbox me
