Hi Ballgame. How are you feeling? It is good news you want off. It sure makes things clearer..
Thanks. Im still struggling with every and sleep. RLS drives me nuts.
I am sorry to hear you were struggling still/again.
Happy to hear you have quit again.
Commitment and determination to regain your life essential.
You know that each withdrawal gets rougher.
What are you doing to help yourself through this time besides the suboxone?
Vitamins, walking, hot baths, wrapping your legs, heating pads,? Staying hydrated. Are you eating?
Have you started any meetings, counseling to help prevent relapse?
You are worth it. Your relationship with your wife is worth it.
Keep the faith.
After 12 years of meds I'm 15 days clean!
But my biggest issue is sleep. I can not sleep at all. I'm up all night and once the sun comes up I can get an hour or two. That's not enough after 2 weeks. How long will this last? If I take sleeping meds I get RLS really bad.
I was on morphine and Percocet for 12 years.
At this point, you just need to go with it. Lack of sleep will not kill you (though you probably wish it would b/c then at least you'd get some sleep!!! lol)...You just need to keep pushing yourself forwards, NEVER looking backwards. Taking sleep aids will not help because your bodies still w/ding. Trying to take substances to force your body to do something it's not going to do only makes the way you feel worse, and you still won't sleep. As far as the RLS is concerned, the Epsom Salt bathes did help, for sure, but when I laid down, what helped was tight *** diabetic socks that my husband bought for me. They were like thigh high and super tight and they did bring me some relief when I was trying to lay down. Eating healthier helps as well, foods high in potassium and magnesium!
I also want to make sure you realize that to stay clean, for any length of time, will require you to find some type of aftercare. At 15 days....now's the time to start figuring out what your going to do.
