in a controlled environment such as a tx center, it is acceptable to use benzos as a detox comfort med
but at home it can be dangerous, my friend overdosed on a benzo when he was using it to detox off a matience drug
for him the risk did not outweigh the benifit, he did not realize that a benzo really does not help that much for opiate wd, so he kept taking more and more
as long as you do not expect the benzo to alliviate symptoms, and take them as directed you should be alright
keep this thread going, so you can talk about how many you end up taking a day
hopefully one day you can take some steps towards managing the anxiety without narcotics
baby steps that is

Benzo's also do have a high risk of dependancy...I am taking Ativan, duing my WD, but limit my intake and will toss it when i get to day 10 clean off Percs. I've taken Benzo's in the past and never really got hooked on'em...Vics/percs though, different story....

I would doubt that the sub had much affect on the use of a benzo - I would think that its much more likely that you do not have a physical dependance on them.
