lofexidine(britlofex)

i have started my detox today from herion using lofexidine it's still early days my last hit was 24hrs ago so if i was just withdrawing cold turky i know i would be feeling much worse .
It is helping with the pysical side of things i don't feel so agitated and my concentration level is better i can do things like read a book or watch a film when in the past doing cold turky i could'nt even be bothered to pick up a book .But as i say it's still early days
When i'am coming off i'v always been told it takes 3 days before you start to feel better ,i have always started counting the hours right after my last hit or should i start counting the next day ,i've been told it takes 72hrs for opiates to come out your system can anyone help me out on this because there is no better feeling when you have went 72hrs and there is no opiates left inside you and you can say to yourself im clean ,or am i wrong does it take longer
Anyway back to the lofexidine they are ok but they don't stop the mental cravings but they do help with the pysical withdrawals i'll post again at 48hrs and let you know how im doing .

Well  I am glad that you are able to take something to help with the physical WD, Coming off of something like Vocidin or Percosets it took me a good 5-7 days to get to feeling better from the WD, so I could imagine that heroine would be muich worse. I would say you should start feeling better after 3 days but just remember that this will be a daily fight for the rest of your life and and you still have bad days lurking, but hang in there you can win and you are already doing so!

good for you for getting this far.  Hang in there because it will get better and if you are up for it maybe go to some meetings.  Im told they help, even if just temporarily.  I am close to what you are going through and as soon as I feel better I am going to go to a meeting.

Wilkie,

You really really need to get outside help. You cannot do this on your own.
Attend a meeting or something, please. Get well.
