vicodin question

I have read several posts about vicodin addiction and weaning off of the drug, but no one does as small of an amount that I do (I take 2 a day, each are 500 mg).  I started taking them for pain, and now take them daily, even if I have no pain.  It has been 11 months.  Can I be addicted on this small of an amount in just one year?  I think I am.  How should I quit?  Cold turkey since it is such a small amount, or cut down?

Addiction can be a very emotive word ... it doesn't sound like you are abusing them or if you are it is borderline. However, taking an opiate for 11 months your body will have become dependant on it.

If you do not have any medical conditions CT or tapering is matter of choice. I would hope CT wouldn't be that bad given the small regular dose. If you can free your schedule for a few days that might be worth trying as it gets it over with quickly. I wouldn't want to say which method would be best for you as everyone is different and has different kinds of will power/tolerances.

Either way well done on catching this before it has gotten out of hand.

I would say cold turky.  You are right in that your addiction is still really small.

Quit while you can.  Trust me.....a 2 per day addiction can turn into a 10 per day habit in the blink of an eye!

You might feel like **** for a couple days, but it's not anything that will kill you.  Stop doing them....NOW!  You will be doing yourself a HUGE favor.
