Subox - Last Question, I promise

I'm concerned about my Subox use after reading through all the comments posted about it. I have averaged 12-15 5/500 vics a day for the past couple of years (I'm 14 days clean). My doc prescribed 8 mgs of subox twice a day, some days I only take one. It kind of sounds like that is a lot. Any thoughts on the amount, if I should take 1 a day (or less) and if I should taper from 2 to 1.  Help??  thanks all - and you look lovely today!  :)

I was doing 40 to 50 norcos (10mgs) a day and I only took 8mgs a
day to detox..From what I am reading please lower your dose if you can
handle it..16mgs is way to high..For 15 pills you should maybe be at 4mgs a day
and lower 1mg each week..The longer you stay on suboxone the harder the detox.

I started on subs in May and my doctor prescribed one to two 8mg daily. I learned quickly that i don't need nearly that much. Maybe everyone is different, but this stuff is so potent, you might want to immediately reduce your dosage drastically. I am taking only 2mg or less daily and that is plenty for me. Believe me, doctors have no idea what this stuff is. You have to adjust it for yourself.

Im currently on 12mgs Sub and its working fine for me. From my understanding 16mgs is the average starting dose. So what you're taking isnt too much. If you feel like its a lot or that yoou want to decrease, I would call the Dr and ask for a taper schedule. Let him know that you're doing fine at one a day and Im sure it would be ok to decrease. The idea behind Sub is to take the least amount that keeps away the cravings and withdrawal symptoms...so 16 may be too much for you or it may be just right....its different for everyone. well i started to abuse it bc  a friend was giving it to me to try to help..well i said enough was enough and got two last pills and 1/4 them up. took 1/4 a day. and i am now 9 days clean. some people say you shouldnt get it from a friend and that a doc should handle it. from what i hear docs give a high dosage. everyone is different so it might not work for you the way it worked for me, but you wont know til ya try. just be careful bc it can get addicting
