well when i saw the dr who gave me the suboxone he knew that i was A.D.D.(have been since i was in grade school)  so he put me on this drug strattera(think i spelled it rite)... i was just wondering if any of u were on it or heard anything bout it and if u have can u please tell me whatever u no bout it??? thanks...2 weeks and 3 days clean.    oh yea and just a lil sumthing else i wanted to add cause i was really pissed bout it but didnt talk amyone like usual but the other nite im at my meeting and this STUPID  lady gets up to talk and starts going on and on bout how she hurt her knee and that the dr gave her a bunch of norco (my D.O.C by the way) and that she has been selling it and that she feels bad but shes got more and that she nos shes gone keep selling it(her doc is crack) and she even said the guy gave her 20 bucks for 30 of em and i was like twitching and all the thoughts in my head were like damn thats a good deal without having a script and the rest of this damn meeting i was thnkn bout going up to her and be like ill give u 40/50 bucks for the pills i didnt but the just the fact that im at this meeting to Get beter and it almost dragged me down i mean that fine if u wana talk bout pills no problem but to start sayn prices and got a bunch thats like me holding a crack pipe in her face thatS BS....and dont really have a point here but just wanted to get it off my chest. im stil thinking bout that damn lady. well anyway back to the real purpose please let me no if u no anything about this medicine STRATTERA

Strattera is sort of like an 'upper' however it doesn't give you the high of an amphetamine.  It helps many many people with their ADD.  Try to take it early in the morning so you don't have trouble with sleeping or going to sleep.

When people say things in meetings that offend us, it says something about us....not them.  True she was out of line in the meeting and you should mention  it to the Chair person, but this is an opportunity for you to look into your own self and figure out why it bothers you so much.  She has a right to express her frustration with her disease just as much as any of us.  You could also go directly to her and let her know how it affected you and she may want to keep the details to herself next time.  If there were a brand new newcomer there she may have scared them away.  I agree w/wildwoodone-I prefer AA meetings (at least in my area).  People are usually sensitive to others and their triggers.

Your problem at the meeting is one I find common at NA meetings.  Seems like more people are there to buy and sell drugs than get sober.  That is why I usually go to AA meetings instead.  They usually have more serious long timers there and the program is the same if you consider alcohol a drug.........which I do.

i am familiar with the drug...it is an ADH med that is not an amphetamine...the other mainstream drugs for adh are habitforming..adderall and ritilin...this one is not scheduled and the abuse potential is very low...kids sell their ritilin at school cos people who do not truly have adh get a speed buzz off of it..this drug does not have that side effect....they r doing a re-eval on starting kids on ritilin as many have had trouble later in life with depression and drug abuse...the drugs are amphetamines used for adh and are almost identical in structure to cocaine..the kids have been getting "dumped" with dopamine all their life and it is hard to function normally for some after years of increased dopamine levels artificially thru amphetamines..a big controversy as it was "the thing to do " for kids for a few decades
it is a much safer drug for adh but can make u drowsy for the first few weeks until u adjust to it
