I have mad friends here and like a few. But to receive warnings over an avatar when we are adults talking about abusing drugs is kind of rediculous. I wish you all the best and God Speed on Recovery.

Important thing as far as privacy is to post any pictures or anything if u do have nay...where only ur friends can see them...u can make ur journals private as well.....if u have a sketchy profie..no one will figure out who u r.....alot of people that google our posts proabably need help anyway

I didn't find it offensive.  There have been pics up here of half naked people and they don't make them take those off.  I don't understand it either.

You know everywhere we go...people are looking over us/me anyway...judging pushing trying to push me to my boundaries......most of the time it is the small stuff..cant sweat the small stuff cos when the big stuff comes raining on us we will be covered by small stuff that meant nothing/but something like ur AVATAR...it was important to u but it was small stuff.... change ur avatar to something like a troll or a rat/the pink panther...road runner....can think of worse...anyways it is funny..laugh and let it go...what we are her for is not to dibble over silly stuff...important stuff....just a reminder that it can be hard to conform sometimes

Go up to the first post (above) by D30 and run the cursor arrow over the D30 and you'll see the avatar.  I don't think it's offensive, and I'm old compared to most of you. In fact, I've seen the avatar on bumper stickers.  

When he said that here we are, recovering addicts, acting all sensitive, it reminded me of a very funny remark I heard in rehab, where smokers outnumber non-smokers about 5 to l -- or more --, unlike the rest of the world. I've never smoked, but I was on the side of the smokers, this time.  Someone was complaining about second hand smoke in bars, and a guy said:  "Yeah, there you sit at the bar, killing your liver, hoping to have unprotected sex with a total stranger, worrying about the danger you're being exposed to from second-hand smoke."

Don't take it personally - they don't know you - there have to be standards, and rules - or this wouldn't work as well as it does.  Don't be too hard on the people trying to make this a safe place for all of us - were they a little over zealous - yep, seems like a strong reaction - but seriously they block out the word hell!
Shake it off - it is not about you.  What is about you - is the support and friendship you have found on this site - seems a shame to lose that.

dude get a punching bag, serious im not making fun at all. it's great in those moments of anger to punch something, this is good for the ladies on here too. for those that hate your hubby's i suggest drawing a face. 5 minutes of this and i gaurentee you will feel better.

btw - i would also kindly suggest not to make any big decisions at this point in your recovery.

it's a very.. tumultuous time. our emotions tend to get all over the place. that was my experience, anyway.

i agree with mj, it's not worth losing out on a great support group that has helped you out. i received a warning once months ago about my finger photo so i set it to private and it's still there. if you do decide to leave over this, then good luck and congrats on your 2 weeks today, but this is not something to leave over.  good luck

hey bud, i don't know what happened, but i'll only toss this out there: don't throw the baby out with the bath water...

if you are getting help here - stay.  period.

that's what it's all about... that's the objective.  that's the goal.
