Fainting from coughing

My husband smokes and when he coughs he coughs so hard that he passes out.   This is due to lack of oxygen.   I think it may be more.  His father/uncle have epilepsy.  Do you think this is possible?   He tries to stiffle his cough because he knows that it upsets me and then he passes out.   This doesn't happen all the time but for me once or twice is enough.  Please advise

I agree with Lucy.  He needs to be seen by an MD asap.  No one on this site has any idea of his medical history, drugs he is on, etc.  This is a question to be answered by his MD.

Good luck.

I'd say take him to the dr.  you might get more help from a different forum, hun.  this one is about addiction problems.  i can sure see why it scares you.  it would scare me too.
