WTF is wrong with me (people with valium experience knowledge)

I have taken valium a few years ago along with many other benzos, not to an extent of abuse I would say though. I have a history of drug abuse ranging from 14 starting with weed up until now at the age of 22. I have basically taken everything besides heroin and crack.

I have been taking valium for about 8 weeks now, I started off with 40 MG a day and at one point was on 400MG a day. Yesterday I took 70MG as I am tapering and was fine, today I was a little depressed and took 100MG, however, I felt as if I had taken nothing at all.....

I have stopped drinking every night, over the last 5 nights I have drank twice and that ws only one bottle of beer on each occasion. Yea I dropped the xanax pretty quick as I felt how short the half life was.
Anyway, yesterday I took 60MG of valium, today I plan to take 55MG, I have been dropping down 5-10MG a day, yes this is a very fast taper according to every bit of advice I have had, but I feel okay to be honest. I am getting a little anxious but then again, i haven't taken my first dose today yet.

I have found that exercise really does help has I have started going to the gym again ever other day. If anybody reading this is trying to taper at any speed, hit the gym or do any kind of exercise, really push yourself because it does help.

The only symptoms of withdraw I have had by dropping 5-10MG valium a day are changes in bodt temperature, pins and needles, slight anxiety and crazy/frighting dreams, (I have them some times anyway)

Hi Tom, my name is Sophie and I tapered off massive amount of benzos, short-and long acting ones. I'm clean for over a year and 1/2 now.

First off, I'd like to congratulate you for wanting to kick off the benzos, they're evil.
However, like many told you before, you need to taper off slowly, steadily and regularly, not like a few days with Valium then switching to Xanax..., that just doesn't work, you need a PLAN!

You explained that you can't afford to taper off slowly, well you gonna have to do it the hard way then but that does not imply the LETHAL way like you're doing for the moment, you really scare me... and I been there...

Valium is the absolute benzo to taper off of. Xanax has a way too short half life and all addiction specialist that know a little about benzos are gonna switch you to Valium. Forget about the xanax, it's just gonna make things more complicated.
So if you cut down little by little your dosage every week in a regular and steady way, you're gonna have wd's for sure but at least you're not putting your life in danger.
You gonna have to stop the booze too, that combo is LETHAL.

The link to benzo.org.uk has been posted already please check it out, it's a great source of information, it has helped me a lot. You have examples of tapering plan there too.
Good luck to you.
Sophie.

Well I was told by the doctor to reduce the dose by half MGs once a week, but for me this is too long and I simply cannot fund it. Even If I reduced it by 1MG a week I would run out of money pretty quick, the only place I can get valium over the counter here is not cheap as they know foreigners want it you see.
I am taking notice of the advice, please do not think that I am not taking notice or do not appreciate what is said because I do.

I will tell you something I forgot to mention. 2 nights ago I was in a fowl mood and had taken my 6MG of xanax, but something happened and I was so pissed off I went and took 200MG of valium in one go, I felt so guilty after and I felt a little different but it did not really affect me. Then I went to the beach and met these thai people and they kept giving me vodka, I was so out of it that when I got back to my guest house, they had to carry me in. I do not remember this but the owner and staff saw it happen at 2am. I woke up on my floor and the person who lives below me says they heard  a loud noise at around 7am, now I have a huge pain on my side lol. So yea, I think this is why I woke up today feeling like I was going to die.

2moro I am going to an AA meeting at noon and I am planning on tapering one MG every 3-4 days, I CANNOT afford otherwise so this is how it has to be I think. Thanks for the advise guys, tom :)

you did stop vallium ,and that should have been done very slowly! and then you rushed the xanax, you are getting some good advice from the folks on here ,but not seemingly taking any notice.
you are swapping things etc and its dangerous and wont keep you off them, please see a doctor or follow the good advice you have been given, for your own sake,
madtram is right a mg can mean a lot on benzos, you need to reduce the vallium in half mgs and let that level out for a while before another reduction. it takes months not weeks.
please look after yourself ,

I have decided to go back to the valium due to the half life and this morning was not good at all, I had to get my gf to get my xanax quickly. I have decided to take 50MG valium midday and then 50Mg in the evening for a couple of days, then down to 90MG a day and so forth.
