Hey Spidey,
How ya doin' girliefriend? I was on Wellbutrin for many years for Major Depression. I had taken many other ssri's, but the wellbutrin worked best for me. When I lost my job and couldn't work anymore, whoever makes the Wellbutrin wouldn't give them to me for free on the PAP. So my AARN put me on Cymbalta. Which is fine for me too, but I think it zaps my sexual drive. It's either that or the Klonopin I take for my Major Anxiety. I also have a personality disorder!! I'm a real mixed bag of nuts girl. Why did they prescribe you the Wellbutrin? Depression? Anyway, I really need an ssri, because I have real bad depression. If you needed it for something, I wouldn't go off it on your own girl. Talk to your Dr. about it ok? Love ya lots and lots....Kat
Hi Spidey, First let me say how much I love You!!! and how impressed I was with the backflip you did off of your bed for Kbusymoms 60 days...You Canadians are Amazing...maybe you should go to the Olympics????
Spidey I would be very careful with cold turkey on these meds..the reason sometimes we feel "normal" is because of these meds and chemicals in the brain being helped by these that we do not produce ourselves. I just want you to be safe, please call you doctor and make a game plan:)))
Ok Chica have a wonderful weekend and be careful with your backflips!!!
omg Spider and deadfast the stupid stuff has got me ROTFL ... good stuff! Spider I have been thinking of going off my meds (lithium) for a long time and I have gotten a lot of advice about how my brain is going to bounce off the walls for a while ... I took Wellbutrin but for a very short time and had a bad reaction to it, something like little seizures but not quite. I understand about wanting to be drug free ... I second that emotion. Just wanted to tell you you have my support. you go, Spidey
Hi and thanks for the stupid remark fronting me off for having the easy life. I have seen many of the homeboys on that in the pen..They would do them other ways ... Got wellbys. On the tear..was the saying .. when hot mess got a different delivery system and more controlled there was a period of time they were unavailable. ..now I know you were taking them the prescribed way .. but some of the cats were on them daily for years ... When the fallout went down they shrank into there cells and no peep was heard ..Then when they did start to surface there was something off .... Not to freak ya out ...you know the difference? They seemed to not have much on the mind like they had to really think about what happened yesterday... ..I take cymbalta.1 everyday. The Dr said don't not take them it is not good to stop ...well I did not fill my scrip and ran out for only like 3 days....Man that was a trip not withdrawal like but head ..mind ..trip like things were skipping or something it was a real strange not cool feeling I could not control. I mean that's the driver ya know and that goes well its a wrap anything else I can fight thru but can't fight the mind not like that. Anyway I guess what I'm blabbing is that be careful with those mind things make sure cause ya don't want to missing some pieces....kinda like when the computer your trying to turn off says if you close this while your application is still running it could change things ...I don't know .. hey I think how you talk to people is welcoming. Keep up good work peace
If crying spells and severe depression kicks in during Christmas and new years it could be trigger for relapse. Call the prescriber.
Not only do I self medicate, but self unmedicate too. Maybe if enough of us do that, it is normal. I've not taken Wellbutrin, not on purpose anyway, but most uppers will cause an opposite effect. Usually not that long, but being sluggish and mentally slow is a common withdrawal of epinephrine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors as well as amphetamines. Wild guess on my part, about two weeks and your brain should start kicking in, then recovery of energy and clarity for "awhile." Many factors play a role. Even my guess is vague, but I know it will pass. I can't take that drug, or my doc thinks I shouldn't, though I like Salvador Dali. Maybe painting the time piece by him would feel okay in slow motion. It's worth a shot, time will pass anyway.
Be careful Spidey. It may not be a classic "W/D", but stopping any antidepressant abruptly could send you crashing into a severe depression. Please stay aware, and if the spacey tired feeling turns into sadness and despair, you might be in trouble. This may hit you after a week. Don't be stubborn - call the doc and tell him you want off, and ask his advise.
Wellbutrin is a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor..So most likely your energy will be less and that good ol brain has to adjust to the removal of this..I think that was a very high dose so maybe you should talk to the DR about this..Just to be safe dear..You might go through another w/d but not like opiates.
We all self medicated our selves or we would not be on this site..hahaha
Why?? Well I guess becasue we are Addicts and we want Everything Now and All at once..lol
Bless
Hi Spider, I think most of us have played doctor at one time or another. I know I did. I just wish I would have gotten paid for it! :) I always took more than what was advised on the label, especially with OTC drugs. I believed that more was better. Don't beat yourself up for thinking you are stupid. It doesn't help you at all by blaming yourself.
I don't know anything about Wellbutrin. I would think that it is a drug that should not be stopped suddenly. Can you talk to your doctor about your situation? That's the best advice I can give. Take care, and I hope you feel better soon. Hopefully, others who have experience with this drug will weigh in and give you some good advice.
I don't know much about ADs; but I'm cheering for you- Hey Spidey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, Hey Spidey :))))
You could be tired from all that delicious cooking you've been doing and running around after the grandkids. Take a break and take care of you. I think we all have to learn how to say NO to loved ones, friends etc- especially during the holidays.
Big hugs to you!!
Hi Spider. It depends on other factors. Don't you just hate it when there are no easy answers. ( btw. I play Dr to myself too. Why not. When I see my Psychiatrist he says,"What would you like to do?".
Back to you. Even the season matter. The last time you went off Wellbutrin was it the Holidays? Were you same weight? Eating same foods? Sleeping same ? Wellbutrin has been around for along time. It has very few side effects & compared to other antidepressants is relatively easy to get off.
The differences you are feeling, will pass. If you never want an antidepressant again it's all good. You can see what the unmedicated life is like for Tony & me.
If the consequence for you is a full load in your drawers, like I said that's all good. I take Wellbutrin 100 mg pr day, more if I can tell I need it. With Bipolar, either someone else tells you, or you know.
Ok Spider, That's all I got. Maxy Pamela
