did i really make it?

Just a few days ago I was posting how I was a vegetable 18 days off opiates. Which I got my clean time 1 day off but today is 21 days and yesterday on day 20 I cleaned my whole house shampooed carpets ran with my kid all seemed normal. I did drink two monster energy drinks and I woke up this morning so far so good. Is it really over. I know I had too change my negative attitude. But it's been a complete turn around. Does anyone think it's tricking me and I could fall back down? And I have always been afraid of energy drinks not sure if their as bad as people say. But wow my fiance agreed yesterday felt like a normal day. I prayed hard and thanked God so many times yesterday

Neverending- Yep, it's great when you start to have "normal" days.

Now is the time for aftercare, if you haven't started already. We don't make it w/o it. Our addict brains are still there, although we removed the drugs.

I swear I turned the corner too!  This is my 17th day and I got up roaring to go.  Just yesterday  I didn't feel like much of anything.   This is exactly  why they say 1 day at a time because  our recovery is a little different  than our feel better date! Awesome stuff#!

You deserve to be proud that you've faced your issue with opiates and decided to make a change.  As for making it, there's still more work to do.  WDs are awful, but relatively short.  Paws can last a year or more.  The symptoms are no where near as tough as WDs but can be unrelenting.  The post WD lethargy has been the hardest thing for me to deal with.  I have to remind myself of all the reasons I wanted off opiates and what I'd have to face if I started them again.  I also stayed in treatment after I quit.  I'm nearly 80 days clean and still in treatment.

I was talking to of of the counsellors at my treatment center.  She suggested that I appeared to be successful since I was the first person at this facility to stop suboxone.  I told her I saw this as a lifetime issue, like keeping a normal weight.  Weight loss is not about dieting, it's about lifelong change and so is recovery from using opiates.  She said "touché ", and then went on to tell me about a co-worker of hers at a different facility.  He was an licensed addiction specialist, clean from alcohol for 26 years.  He fell off.  Lost his job, his family and at some point probably his life.

You're doing great but you can't let up.  Congrats on your success.  Keep fighting the good fight.  :-)

You've turned the corner!  You may go back and forth a little bit so don't be alarmed. There are good days and not so good days but that's normal...So good for you!

The energy drinks are a big help but most of this was YOU making a huge effort. I'm happy for you-
