almost died, but I'm back

As some of you know, I was tapering off suboxone.  Well I got sick, horribly, finally went to the ER last Sunday and was diagnosed with pneumonia (vomiting, bloody phlegm, sleepless nights coughing) anyway....I am better and so thankful to be alive! :)  I'm currently at 1.25 mg (3rd day today) and I have 34 2mg strips left (the pharmacy did just call and say I had one ready??  was going to pick it up and then thought I'd see if I had enough till I could safely jump)  My daughter is leaving for 9 days for spring break with her dad so of course I'm anxious to get to .25 or lower by then, which is March 7th, I know that's a bit soon, otherwise I'm looking at mid-June is the thing.  I'm going to do some figuring but thought I'd see what others did and what my next jump down should be (don't feel any different at 1.25 than 1.5 so wondered if that's the "usual" decrease??  Thanks again and I'm looking forward to being clean soon with all ya others!

Thank you everyone for all your great comments and support--if anyone knows of a comfortable but fast enough taper to get me till March 6th that would be so helpful (e.g. should I stay on one dose longer than 3 days?)  I obviously want to taper fast to get to zero by then but also want to be successful and be over the worse of the withdrawals by the 15 or 16th when I have to pick her up!

Oh yeah.....push the nutritional supplements....Ester C (or regular Vit C) is one of the best things you can feed yourself...to heal your pneumonia and expel toxins....I speak from experience.....Vit C is my "go to" vitamin....if someone asked me which one I would pick if I could only have ONE.....that'd be it....good luck~

I don't have any experience with subs either but waned to congratulate you on your fight and desire to be clean.  I'm sorry you were so sick with pneumonia, I'm sure that was just a small bump in your journey to sobriety.  As Real said, I'm sure someone with sub experience will be along shortly.  Wishing you the very best and sending prayers of strength your way!

Sounds like you have a perfect opportunity to jump off when your daughter leaves w/her dad for spring break.  I can only tell you what "I'd" do...and that is:  cancel the script at the pharmacy.....taper the rest of what you have left, and get the show on the road.  You'll do GREAT!!!!

Keep in mind....it takes about 21 days for the sub to leave your system.
