any help please

Ok so I finally got caught. I am scared to death. I called in a prescription yesterday and when I went to pick it up they said it was fraud. This morning I got a call from an investigator asking me to call him back. I am so scared. I have tried to quit and never could and now it's too late. Any advice would be much appreciated!! The prescription was for norco

Oh dear, so sorry for this. Sounds to me that there is no way around facing this . Is this your first time in trouble with a legal issue? I would probably call the investigator and face the music, then throw yourself into meetings, call an attorney and get your life back. I know others will be on to give you better advice. This isn't the end of the world, just a wake up call that may save your life in the end. Stay as calm as you can, you can't change what has happened, only do better from here.

It is my first time. I can't afford a lawyer. I am so scared and have no idea what to do. I can't lose my job or kids. I know I did this to myself and I have been trying so hard to stop but it has taken over my life, obviously. Can I wait to call him. I'm too scared to today. I am so mad at myself

Freaking out will only make things worse. I can only imagine how you feel. Still think your best bet is to come clean to all involved and this is coming from a gal who thinks, "rules are for the little people who can't get around them". Those in authority will hopefully appreciate the honest and admission of addiction. If not, you still will need to deal with this. Better to do with you in the drivers seat. Have you checked with an attorney?

personally, i would call the investigator back and just see what they say.  I know if I didn't call back, I would drive myself nuts with all the different scenerios in my head.  Whatever happens, YOU will get through this.

Do y'all think the investigator is just sitting by the phone waiting for me to call back? I can't afford a lawyer. I just want off this and I CAN NOT lose my kids. They are my life. Or at least were before this stupid drug took over. I'm just scared. I have NEVER been in trouble before. Ever

First, a very good friend of mine got caught writing his own scripts. He also worked for the cable company and asked to use the restroom at every house he went to so he could rummage through the customers meds, and wud steal nything good he found. He got caught doing that too. He had been taking pills since he was 15, and was 30 when he got caught.those werent his first offenss so he was worse iff than ur situatiin. My point is after he dealt with all of it, he went to get help. Was put on suboxone, and now he says he is happier then he ever been. I am NOT saying suboxine is the answer for everyone. I'm just saying that ur life is not over.
As fir an attorney, you absolutley need one. I wud call around and see if anyone may help u out financially. At the very least, get in touch with the public defenders office. Now I am not a laywer nor am I an expert. But if it were me, I wud speak with a lawyer before I made any statements to nyone. Rule #1 in criminal case. Keep ur mouth shut and let ur lawyer do the talking.
Was it a criminal investigator or one from the insurance company do uu know?

I just noticed that this isn't your first time.  There is a thread you made back at the end of the year about this same situation.  Good chance they been waiting on you to do it again if you never got caught the first time.  We all make terrible decisions as addicts.  I've done worse, trust me.  Attorney or not, you are going to have to deal with this.  Keep your head up.  Maybe this is what you need to get yourself on the right track.  Wishing you the best

Hi, so basically you did nearly the same thing 8 months ago, and it worked out that your didn't get in trouble, so you continued to do this and finally got caught! I think this was inevitable! I'm very sorry, and I truly wish you the best! I hope that finally this will be over for you and you will get the help that you need! I would Definately speak to some kind of attorney! Take care, and I'm praying for you!

The next time he calls just answer it? deal with this Its not going to go away if they are calling you I think they will just keep on or show up at ur house.  Not trying to scare you just being honest Its what i would want. We all have done things as addicts that we normally would not of. We lie to gets pills we do whatever it takes. You said you want to stop the madness of using well if thats ur plan Do you have a quit date ? Or is it just because you got caught. You had posted earlier same Scenario where you almost got caught i imagine you didnt. But you have to know even if this does go away you will eventually get caught.  I Know you are scarred I have kids also and I would be crazy imagining losing them But the first step now is to deal with this Call him back and then You have to stop using . You can do it. First step is the hardest. I went CT myself and I was so scarred but I did it and It wasnt easy but it was alot easier than I Thought it would be. Its the mind stuff that is the worst part and right now your mind is spinning. Just Breath and call this guy back. Get in drivers seat stop this and get your life back! I am here for you to listen and support you as many others are.

I agree. Call the detective back. You will have to face the music sooner or later.  You came very close before and were never going to do this again so this may be your real wake up call. I know it's a tough one but the madness needs to end for you.

I would not avoid the investigator.  However, it is your right to not answer anything.  If you are arrested you can ask for a lawyer and then you can tell them the truth (the lawyer that is).  I probably wouldn't, but you do have the option to just tell the cops the truth also.  Your call.

Ultimately, you need to tell the truth and start fighting this thing.  It will kill you eventually.  Good luck, all you can control now is from this point forward.  Make the most of it, you can do it.

You do not have to speak to the detective.  He is hoping you will.  He is legally allowed to lie to you..to say anything he wants to get you to confess.  I know you feel terrible and want this over, but dont make things worse for yourself.  Contact a lawyer...many charge nothing for a consultation.  Good Luck

If you really want to get your life back then do what is right.  You got caught, they know it is you, the gig is up.  You will be given a public defender if you cant afford one.  It's time to come clean~~

Cant seem to get to c the responses besides the1st 3to show.NO DONT JUST CALL HIM AND COME CLEAN THATS DUMB.U say u cant afford an attorney.Well u need to beg, borrow, pawn, sell whatever it takes to get a lawyer.Ur an addict and as much bad that comes with that we r nothing if not resourceful.Take out a loan, call ur parents, put off bills whatever it takes.DONT GO onto this situation unarmed.Dont admit anything directly to the police. This is ur1st time n legal trouble?Ive read a lot about this.U will probably get probation. If possible check n2rehab that will b what a lawyer will tell u to do.I get it u have kids, job etc. Right now u have to focus on this.U can always find another job if need be.Depending on what type of job a lot of them have assistance with helping employees w/addiction.Everyone thinks rehab and they cant afford it.Well u can get in free n a lot of places or vitually free(sliding scale). In Florida I know there is a detox center u go to stay there for medical detox. They give out huge lists of rehabs that take people n for free u sit and call til u find a place that will take u for free. The detox cost$60for a week but they keep u until u can get intp a place if u want them to.I know they have those types of places across the country.Get n rehab, get a lawyer(check w/assistance w/that too they offer nationwide assistance w/lawyer fees.Call&talk to a public defender if thats the last resort.Explain the situation ask what to do.Dont sit there waiting for them to come knocking chances r they will at ur home or work.there r lots of ways to get help.with this.be proactive

allaboutcc you are in SERIOUS denial about what you've been doing.  It's time to face what's going on and deal with this.  And most importantly, it's time to get clean.  You talked before about needing the meds to be able to carry your child?  And the Dr. gave them to you for that?  I don't understand - what I do know is it is TIME to face this.  STOP running and take responsibility for what you've done.  Most of us made really BAD decisions when we were high and you can't just walk away from owning what you've done and dealing with the consequences.  We don't get to do that.  We have to try and make amends for our behavior.

Finally, I honestly believe that once you face this head on, you're going to feel a lot of relief.  You've been carrying this for way too long.  I'm sorry if this seems harsh but you need to hear this.  As strange as this will sound, this legal situation may very well save your life.
