Hey Ribs, I don't have exp with subs, but just so happens their are several members on here today with success stories. The common theory seems to not be on them over a week. Keep positive and as upbeat as you can. Attitude is everything . I know you can do this. Keep posting, I care.
I got it. So your inspirational advice is to keep my mouth shut at aa and na meetings until I am off the medicine that is saving my life? Got it and thank you
With your history Randy, stay on them as short as a time as you can and get the outside help that you need to get to the core issues.
I know that you are relatively new to the fellowships of NA & AA and I don't want to be surprised if this situation comes up--as you know. there are no rules or regulations in the fellowship. there are suggestions and there is a requirement. they ask that you be clean when you speak. they do not recognize maintenance drugs such as Methadone and Suboxone as clean drugs nor do they consider you clean if you are on them. You may be asked to listen so don't be surprised. This is for the protection of the whole group and is by no means meant to single anyone out but as the Suboxone and Methadone communities grow it threatens the fellowships. I hope you will still go as listening is often what we need to do and anything right now could benefit you.
You have to do what is best for you. Just remember tho that you still have to do the foot work. You want to be in a good spot mentally when it is time to come off these.
Thanks, great quote. I have been through alot and feel as though I am much stronger.
