hello,  first let me say, hang in there.  Each time you quit and pick up and use again, it gets worse.  I became addicted 20 yrs. ago due to severe back problems.  I started out on hydros, and went thru all the rest of the pain medications according to their strengths.  i finally ended up on methadone for 10 yrs. and what a nightmare.  The methadone trip, to put it short, took my "soul". I finally came off 160 mg.methadone cold turkey.  I had had it!!!  If i can live thru that, you can make it thru wd of hydros.  I was in wds for about 6 months.  They did get better about every month, but it was the worst time in my life.  I would rather die that go thru that again.  Just think that if you don't nip your addiction now, you could end up on methadone.  It was $13.00 a day too. Also, try benadryl for sleep and melatonin, or Valerian root. You can buy it at dollar store usually. You also have to change friends, and places, if you associate them with using. NA is so helpful. Go to website or call them. They will help you more than you realize.  Also you can contact me anytime.  i will be glad to answer any questions if i can. I have lived with this dilemma all my life.  Be glad to help in any way.   Good luck,  and God Bless!!!    jane in ky.

Great Job!  The hot showers really help! I would have used a bath, but I can't fit into it... I am a large fellow! haha..

Keep it up!  If you can't make it to the store, you can order Vitamins online, somewhere out there is a concoction for opiate withdrawal, Mine just came today (now that the physical pain is gone ..LOL), but I am going to start it anyhow... the vitamins helped with the energy for sure, and when you detox, you are getting rid of a lot of good stuff to, so it needs replenishing...

Sweating helps to speed it up too.  Keep up the good work and you will be feeling real good soon, just ask anyone here!

You will get back to your yard, you loved it before the pills, and you will love it after.... even more!  Just accept the fact that you will not be into anything for a few more days, and don't stress on it.  Is your husband able to help you out right now?

I do well better this afternoon(a little). My legs feel much better. I walked to the mailbox(we have a long driveway), drug the trash can back up, and I was huffing and puffing. I then did some jumping jacks and toe touches. Then drug myself in the bathroom and sat in a hot tub of water. I also drank some green tea. My husband remineded me that i had gotten him some lipo-flavonoid. Basically vitiamins. So I think I'll use those instead of those GROSS chewables. I know the best is yet to come. I have quit everything I love to do even though hydro gave me energy. I have always kept my home and yard spotless. I just lost interest in everything. I want to feel normal again. I am gonna fire my dr. and tell her why.  I talked to her about me trying to get off hydro. She wanted to put me on methadone, I refused.

Yes, any vitamins are good, but the b12 has been the best for me, good energy!  It will pass, and I didn't mean to say I didn't have any wd's, the worst is past me though, and I feel normal again.  Being productive at work and have energy for 80% of the day...

Day 2 and 3 were my worst, yesterday was much better and today is much much much better, I want to go to bed now, and wake up for tomorrow to feel better!

IT WILL PASS, PAIN is temporary, and your happiness is worth it.  Stay focused and you will be free!!

Do you have any Valium, or Valerium Root?  That was what really helped me for the first three days... yesterday and today i took advil, for back pain.  I also smoke weed, which will be my next vice to stop, but I must say, it has really helped with a lot of the sleeping and mood.

I know its not great advice to fight one drug with another, but it has helped me.

I saw a post the other day about the withdrawals that was dead on:

"the withdrawals are all the pills taking back the fun they gave us" or somethng like that!

Good Luck and you are in my prayers!

Day five, and I am ALIVE again...

My habit was not that bad apparently, because there are zero WD's today, zero.  I slept for nine hours last night, and have been pumping the vitamins, and taking some wheatgrass, ginger, and lemon shots aka Power Shots... hope its not a new addiction.. LOL.

If you don't have any withdrawals, and feel good, thank your higher power you caught it in time!

Good Luck to you all!

I know I need to get some vitamins. But I'm to tired to get dressed and drive to town. I live 15 miles out of town. I'm drinking green tea and alot of water. Everything stinks to me. So I'm not eating. Last night I took some tylenol pm (only 2) I thought this might help me get a little sleep. It may the crazy legs worse. Thanks Chris.

Hey Chris, You give me hope. I'm 3 days cold turkey off hydro. I just keep wondering how long the withdrawals last. You are the first person that is about the same as me, in our length of addiction and the amount taken per day. (sometimes I did take more than 6)
Hopefully when (not if) I get to day 7 I'll feel better.

In my opinion you do not need sub unless you continually relapse. your use was not that strong. There are NA meetings online if that is holding you up. There are many people on medhelp that have been through a lot and have been on this forum for a few years. They are a wealth of knowledge. And they have nothing to gain fromofferring you help but personal satisfaction. There is some lunatic advcie on medhelp - so use your head and your intelligence. Nobody on this forum is a Doc - so take advice with a grain of salt.........but there also are some very intelligent and capable people here..........      best of luck to you - - - PM me anytime that you wish
