how to kick suboxone

hello everyone , to get to the point i have recently withing the last 4 months have been medically retired from the marine corps for ptsd. coming home i quickly became aware and introduced to suboxone. i would say for a solid 2 months i have been taking it every day, no regular pattern just whatever i could afford from the dealers around town that sold it. some days i would maybe take 4mg and others maybe 16mg and other days maybe 1 to 2 mg, you get the picture? regardless iam know fully hooked and any time i attempt to quit iam pounded with extreme fatigue and nausea and pretty much feel like dying. my question is how long should i expect for the sub to leave my system and get me back on my feet like when i was in the marine corps. i have lost close to 25 pounds and cannot even attempt to hit the gym extremely depressing from my usual lifestyle months ago. since i have only taken subs for 2 months does that mean it will be easier to kick or no, iam completely in the dark with this and looking for any input or help, any suggestions on how to kick would be greatly appreciated, ive heard of the tapering method, and other methods just looking for anything to help. thankyou

Haha, i know, i really feel for you guys, you do it so tough, it takes a lot of strength to monitor yourself. I could not of gotten off subs if i was handed them.
But i think you guys are way, way stronger a person than us, for doing it that way and anybody who doses at home, is incredible and inspirational : )  it does put the habit to the test for sure !!

Almost all of the otc medicines that were listed are definatly needed. I would add the following: immodium and get yourself some gatorade and bananas. I found I had lost my appetite for about 3 weeks. Whatever u do, do NOT dehydrate as.that will make it feel way worse. When I saw "chemist" on a previous post u realized that that person is not in the US, which makes a big difference b/c the same drugs r not available there and here. I believe I was told that in other countries subs are given out like methadone used to be...in an office setting, daily. BIG difference when someone else is holding the meds. Stay the hell away from anything w/codeine. Take 3 ibuprofen. Push forward...when u think u can't, post! The people on this forum help u to push!

I had just got off the phone with my local chemist lady who was doing some research for me on getting better from subs and everything i told you, i am buying myself tomorrow morning. Except the over the counter meds, as ive already detoxed. Good luck again.

L-tyrosine taken with saint johns wort to build your seratonin and dopamine and neurotransmitters ( not sure of my spelling sorry ) this will up your energy levels, 80% of patients in a clinical trial had there low energy levels reversed to normal again and their depression and anxiety completely went away.
600 mg vitamin C daily, no more as this is not beneficial for the body ( doctor oz )
B12 and B6 ( called B complex or mega B complex )
Multi-vitamin
Multi-mineral
Magnesium
All this has to be taken daily to have the most benefit. You have to get all with good quality, cheap vitamins etc wont have what they say in them.
Not only does all of this help you to get back to normal quicker, but it is an essential building block for repairing your brain.
Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acid is also great.
For extreme withdrawls over the counter, you could try nurofen plus with panadol rapid switching from one to the other every 4 hrs or as needed. Or nurofen plus and Mercindol ( pronounced mer-sin-dol ) . Mercindol is the strongest over the counter pain reliever that im aware of, it has codeine in it, so you would have to take carefully. Many of my friends withdrew cold turkey from heroin with Mercindol and nurofen, or Mercindol and Panadol rapid.
Epson salt for your body aches and pains.
I really hope this helps.

thankyou all for the coments it does mean alot,  so around 1am yeaterday morning i took the last of the sub i had on me probably 1mg or less, when i woke up and throughout the duration of the day i felt normal and pretty good foolishly thinking i could easily slide by this, not so easy. its almost 3 am and im hot extremely hot but yet have chills i cant stop moving my legs for the last two hours and getting cramps in my calves. nausea here and their but i expect that to get worse. i figure instead of tapering im going right for it, i figure day 1 is gone need day 2. to answer vicki595  yes iam set up through the VA or veterans affairs with doctors for continuing treatment. the thing though is im kind of in a bind because if i go to them and say im addicted to suboxone that might cause some hassle in my dissability rating which correlates to my dissability pay each month. but i do thank you for your concern, and i thank all of you for your comments it does help. also is their any over the counter meds to help aid in the wd symptoms or any recomendations, cause this **** is terrible.

What I've noticed is that different people have different opinions on suboxone which is totally fine. However, for an addict (such as myself) tapering correctly just didn't work. Because as soon as I started to not feel good, I would just take more. I HAD to go cold turkey or it would not have worked. And as far as xanex and clonipan, doesn't that totally undue the whole detox process? I thought we were getting all of the dope out? Withdrawals hurt, they suck, there supposed to so we remember how we got here. Again, more power to anyone that can taper correctly....its RARE!

When we are taking subs, the doctor prescribes us valium and clonidine to take together to detox. It works wonders and makes withdrawls less intense. People may not like hearing this, but i had little to no withdrawls at all while detoxing from subs. I was on them for almost 2 years with 32mg daily. I only tapered for 5 months to .08mg before jumping.  I was lucky considering how high my dose was. But like i said, little to no withdrawls for me. Good luck, maybe see a doc and be honest and you should have no problem getting the clonidine ( non-addictive ) and valium to detox.

Wow...of all the drugs u could find, it had to be this one! Lol. On Jan 1st, I quit 6 yrs of being on subs and, no, I didn't taper correctly b/ c I am an addict, I never would have done it correctly. Which is actually kind of funny when u think that 99% of people that go to the Dr for subs, are addicts, it just switches us from one drug to another? Being on it for 2 mths is definately in your favor. Do not keep taking 16 mg a day, for sure. I wad up to 24 mg at some points. It took me approximately 3 to 4 weeks before I could go out in public. Again though 6yrs of this stupid ****. There's a list of stuff u should get before u jump, but I say JUMP! It's going to suck, but u can do it. I would probably a week, maybe 2. Let me know if u decide to jump, I'm not in the military, BTW...I am a 42 yr old mother and wife. If I can do it, u can! Definatly willing to help, if u want to do it. Good luck.

Hi there and Welcome Home!

SUBOXONE is a pretty strong drug with a long half life. It's also known for horrific wd's.  So, you just took this on your own recreationally...not to help get away from an opiate addiction?

Well, regardless, you haven't been on it very long so that's in your favor. Although 16mg is a high dose for this stuff...even 4 mg...you should do fine. Just taper this, don't try to abruptly stop. It's really unpleasant.

We can't offer a taper plan here but just cut back over time until about .5 mg and then you can stop. Your other option is to contact your doctor and ask for his/ her help.  Are you seeing anyone for the PTSD? That person could probably offer some help, as well.

I'm glad you found us and...thank you very much for your service!
