Awesome decision!  It may be a rough few days but really no worse than having than the flu and who hasn't been thru that in their life?  You lived thru that right?  Did you read up on the Thomas Recipe?  Its in the bottom right hand of the screen under Most Viewed Health Pages.  It may be good idea to get those items needed to help you make it thru the next few days when you go out to your Dr. appt.

We'll be here for you.  Keep posting.

I know you have no energy now and unfortunately the energy and motivation seems to be the last thing to come back.  But .. it does come back.  You just have to keep pushing yourself for awhile.  The thing is, the more you push yourself the better you'll feel.  When I did make myself get up and go out for a walk I always felt so much better!  I have an mp3 player and I live on the very edge of town.  I go out walking on a somewhat country road and sing with the mp3 player and the music and the air and exercise makes me feel so much better.  I think I don't want to get up and go, but once I'm up and out I'm so glad I got up.  You just have to MAKE yourself get up.

Eventually you'll feel better.  The more you do the better you'll feel.

The Clonpdine is great. If you can, monitor your bp. I don't know why they gave you the Diazapam, I don't agree with it. What did the doctor say it was for? Just please, please be careful with it. It is addicting.

I know Tylenol is rough but you don't want to take any more opiates and it is a pretty small window you have right now. As rough as it is, give it a bit more time to see if what you are feeling is re-bound pain from withdrawal or the real deal. A lot of us go through this during detox and we think the pain is real and end up using. So you really have to check yourself with this one.

Try and nice hot soak in the tub to relax your muscles. Read if you are into that or watch a movie. The heating pad was my best friend the first week.

Most of all, hang in there.

Diazapam if im not mistaken is Valium. As far as "as needed" It should have  like an hr limit or something on the bottle. Its a anti anxiety med so if you feel like you need one, take one. You might also call the pharmacy or your Dr and ask how often you can take one. I liked IBprophen(sp) for pain (Advil) I took the rx dose of 800 mgs. I'm sure your DR told you DO NOT take that Clonidine more than twice a day. What mg is it? Just curious... How are you feeling overall?

I also had Clonodine for Methadone Detox....Do urself a HUGE favor and ask ur MD to give u a Weekly Methadone Taper. I understand your pain as much as anyone. The Clonodine may only seem to work for a couple of days - then the real WD will kick in. The Valium is ur best friend for the Restless legs but not much else.
As "QUINNER" said - do Not take the Clonidine more than twice a day, no matter ur struggle.
Clonodine started out in life as a Blood Pressure Reduction medication -- that teamed with Valium will Kill u. Meaning ur Ur blood pressure will go so low that your internal organs will fail to work.
Im a Cardiovascular Technologist and am quite familiar with that drug as I am with Methadone addiction.

Stay away from Suboxone. Try and talk with ur Dr about Weekly Tapering--I say weekly   because we cant be trusted with High quantaties of Dones....
God  BLess u and Im living proof that u will get over the Methadone addiction, its just gonna suck for a couple weeks. Stay off the Uppers unless absolutely necassary.
My biggest Suckfest right now though is Severe Lower Leg Pain that Ive just posted about and dont know if this is normal with Methadone WD's??

Edit: AS QUINNER SAID--

Meant to say "As This_Big Said" Only 2 Clonodine per day and Monitor ur Blood Preassure!!

IF it begins to go below 100/60 , on EITHER  number, Start Drinking Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots of water - Like a Gallon and lay down. Ur BP increases if ur lying down.

Are you thinking quinner is coming off Methadone?  I'm pretty sure he is just quitting an oxy/percocet use.  I could be wrong but he had another post and I think that's what he said.

After rereading the post I noticed Methadone and suboxone - and with Clonodine thrown in the mix I must have drawn my own conclusion...My bad. In that case, Im not sure why he would want to turn to Methadone nor Suboxone to help with WD sx's?

My advice about the Clonodine still stands though - I personally disagree with the usage of a Blood Pressure Medication for Detoxing, especially teamed up with a Benzo.

If it is Percs ad Vicodins, Please refrain from anything stronger. If you think these are tough, The Methadone and Oxycotins as well as the Suboxones cause havoc on ur body and brain, and u become somewhat physically dependant.

I would imagine a bottlle of jack and a lot of sleep with the Valium should make him feel a bit better in a  week or so?
Huh..
I didnt realize they gave Clonodine for Vicodin addictions?

Hi- done CT many many times myself and usually had to work the whole time. What I have found to help tremendously is immodium. And a lot of it. The recommended dose is 2 mg and I have taken 50 mg at a time- twice a day - and it made all the difference in the world. Really - back and leg aches disappeared, some energy resumed and of course no crazy trips to the bathroom.  I only did it for two - three days straight but it was a lifesaver. And please please drink a ton of water.

I know you are all wondering if it backed me up and the answer is no. During withdrawals wa all know how forceful and explosive "it" can get and taking this much only stopped me up for a day. The following days I was "normal" so to speak. Gosh ya gotta love posting about your bathroom adventures publicly!!! LOL! But seriously it worked. And it's cheap and readily available. Loperimide is the key.

glad you made the decision to go ct. I did it too 3 days ago and day 1 is the hardest. I really couldn't function at all. Just taking my kids to school itself was the hardest task ever. But now by day 3 I feel a ton better. I'm still suffering but I see the light now. I recommend you try to just sleep and take it easy today if you can. It will be a long day. Hot baths, lots of water and green tea, and rest. Take the valium in the evening to help you sleep through the night but don't take too much. I take alprazolam in the evening and it makes the night bearable and the whole process possible. Try to get some exercise tomorrow if you can force yourself to do it...it will make you feel a lot better. It does get better and these first days seem so long and drawn out. Just please don't backslide because if you do you will only be prolonging the problem.
Good luck.

Speaking of Bathroom breaks---Seems like after an opiate addiction u have to go to the bathroom so much, u end up Wiping urself raw. For that a good Antibiotic Sauve works wonders to ease a lot of that pain. Colorful eesh but its still advice. Heck Neosporin will work..

OMG hysterical - as hysterical as it can be. Rawness- yep and the contents? Good lord I never knew I could house that type of stuff. Like a sci fi movie!!! There used to be a website : ratemypoo.com where folks submit pictures of their deeds and others rate them. I think we could all win that one for sure.

Sorry. Forgive me for getting off topic but maybe it will make you smile or focus less on the pain of WD. We are all here for you.....

thanks to all, i took a hot bath and managed a little nap...still feeling horrible though but at least i didn't feel nothing during that sleep.  Just to clear things up i am coming off an 7 year percoset and oxy addiction...i choose ct because i didn't want to take the meth/Sub route.  I am really feeling i made the wrong decision..if i can just get through this first day it would help immensely.

I had originally thought your were taking Methadone. But I understand u are now taking Percocets?

There are just So many questions for us to Ask? Do you have a wife and Kids? Do you make enough money to take some time off and check in to a Rehab center.
Can you contact your MD and discuss a Tapering Method ??

HI hows it going tonight ??? most dont sleep so I just wanted to encourage you to keep pressing forward .....you will get threw this...methadone and sub have there own can of worms and both can be difficult to get off off....I had to taper for 8 1/2mo to get off methadone going in and out of withdrawals along the way I was miserable there is no get out of jail free card eventually you will have to face withdrawals the onse your going to have now will probably only last 4 days or so then you will feel better it is different symptoms each day
so the cramping should lighten up right now a hot soak will help the most get comfortable with the saying....''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile'' theres not much you can do but go threw it....get out tomorrow and rent some movies...most of us dont sleep going threw this it will give you something to do wile your up at night....when it gets unbearable
pray for strength to get threw it....God got me threw it...just know in the end it will be so so worth it to be clean....keep posting for support we all want to see you sucseed
good luck and God bless......Gnarly

Just to clear things up, the other day i was given three options by my doctor to quit my percoset/oxy addiction, he said i can take meth with a slow taper or i can take Suboxone with a slow taper or i can go with CT with some prescriptions to alleviate the withdraws.  I choose CT because my ultimate goal is complete abstinence.  The way i feel now i think i made a mistake because i am really getting bad withdraws. I never thought they would be so severe so early or it might just be me not realizing what to expect.  Hope that clears some things up but i really dont think i am gonna make it, i feel so ashamed.
