help for ambien

My son is addicted to ambien. He takes it morning, noon & night. ...large doses. He sleepwalks and does not know what he is doing. He had 4 car accidents in the past week and was arrested for theft. He is also a compulsive gambler. I had him in 3 hosptials the past 2 weeks and there is no antedote to detox off that drug. It was a horrible site to see him suffer like that. When he was released from the hospital, he went doctor shopping and was given more ambien. Our family doesn't know what to do with him. He has no insurance and has lost everthing. We need help....Any suggestions???Anyone?

If he is a minor, then you could possibly have him hopitalized in a psychiatric facility that takes charity care.....If he is a danger to himself or others, he could meet the criteria for psychiatric hospitalization....Does he live with you?  HOw is he buying the fug or paying for them may I ask?

This has to be so difficult . This is going to be hard to hear but there is nothing you can do if he does not what help. My I ask how old is he ?do you know how much he is taking a day ?

I had taken Ambein for 5 months...only at night, and found myself sleep walking, talking etc...crazy!!!

That drug is horrible...

I just finally made up my mind and quit cold turkey....and never took them again in well over a year....it was hell trying to get back to sleep.

If he wanted to quit, and you could go to the doc, the could give him anti-axiety (temporary) to help calm him down, and help with his sleep.

They say your not suppossed to stop abrublty....but for me, I got fed up...and dropped them altogether. Your son has to make that decision also for himself.
