How to detox from methadone

I have been on 60 mg meth for a year due to pain. I want to get off of the meth ASAP but I don't want to be sick. Please tell me what I should do to come off of this drug that has a huge hold on my life. I will buy whatever supplements or vitamins whatever it takes.

Hi I want to start a post about this but I can't figure out how to start a new post. Can someone tell me how to please ? I am on my cell phone so maybe that is why. I have a personal experience with this. I started using methadone that I have gotten from my bf. I take 10 milagrams a day for 1 year about. I may miss a few days because I can't find it. I have never gone to a clinic and don't want to. However I want to get a new job and can't doing this. I have troed to quit but I have never been successful so i have an appointment with a Dr. To try to get on suboxone.  The last time I quit was last week I made it 4 days but still am sick to my stomach. My stomach is what bothers me more then aches and hot flashes. I can deal with that . I take valerian root to sleep. For the anxiety from detoxing I take Confianza from a company called It Works. Both of those are all natural . Then for being achy I take alive.  But for the diarrhea I have taken titralac and Imodium only after being sober for 3 days because I havee to work. I really at this point just need help with that.Everything else I take helps with my withdrawal symptoms. So maybe this will help someone else. Just want to stop this endless cycle.

TAPER! I was on a four year 80mg-90mg. I'm eleven days clean after I jumped off of 3mgs. I went from 90mg to 80 to 70 to 60 to 50 to 40 to 30 to 20 then started going down 1mg a week. It is a long process but so worth it in the end. Honestly the withdrawls werent too bad but they could have been alot worse. Also as for your doctor not tapering you, you have to ask for it and be on them every week. Because my doctor would "forget" to put me down. whatever you have take less and less each day. Stay away from fatty greesy foods, drink lots of water! ask gnarly_1 he knows alot!

I want to say thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately my dr knows that I want to come off the meth but still does nothing to taper me off. My family and I feel this dr only sees me as a copayment and nothing more. The plan was to get my neck and arm fixed and get me off the meth. Here we r a yr later and nothing has changed. So I have decided to take matters into my own hands and do as much research as possible to learn how to get me off of the meth. I have insurance through the state and this dr is really the only one in my area that felt comfortable putting me on the meth. I can't afford to go to a meth clinic. So if anyone can give me an idea of how to taper down that would be awesome. Thanks again ;)

HI im with atthebeach the only way to come off methadone is a slow taper talk to your doctor this is going to take several months to do right we will be here to support you it is uncomfortable tapering off but it is doable I came off 150mg and it took me 8 1/2 mo to do it solw and steady wins this race I help most of the methadonians so if you want help im hapy to add you to my list I wish there was an ez way but theirs not keep posting for support good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

Hello and welcome. That is great you want to get off the methadone. You need to talk with your dr about a taper schedule.can't quit 60mg cold turkey you will get extremely sick. It is a slow taper.
