taper after loss of methadone

i have just been told that my dr will no longer prescibe me methadone because of one dirty ua dosent he have to give me some kind of taper

normally if u have a dirty test they stop u for a month and u can go back but that was my experience 9 years ago in b.c when my ex was on the program but they make u go to the pharmacy and drink it infront of them every morning, ask him if u can do that  ?

No, he is not obligated to give you a taper. You violated your contract and he is within his rights to remove you from the program.

If you don't mind my asking, why did you use while on the program? And what do you plan to do now? Have you started withdrawal yet?

hi, doctors usually bring folks off methadone with a taper plan, it seems yours is being very firm because of missuse, maybe if you tell us how much you were taking etc, there are good folks on here who can advise and help you, they usually come on here a bit later, try not to worry, best wishes
