sleep while withdrawal from codeine

this is day 5 of my withdrawal from codeine and all I want to do is sleep but I can't. I fall asleep for maybe 10 minutes then I'm startled awake choking on phlem or just heeby jeebying.  I just want to feel normal and I'm afraid if this goes on too much longer I'm going to fail the first chance I get.  Does anyone use gravol to get sleep under these circumstances?

Five days!  Good for you.  I just posted about my own sleep problems, but I want to encourage you to hang in there.  Even though I'm still not sleeping well, the anxiety is gone. I no longer feel anxious at night or feel the startling sensation you describe. That will pass and, even if you don't sleep, you will at least be resting and relaxing a little better.  Hang in there!  It gets better each day!

Congratulations on day 5. What you are experiencing is normal. You can certainly us the gravol as that will help with the phlem as well as sleep. It takes a while for sleep patterns to return to normal but don't give up. There are a number of solutions out there but without knowing more about your case it is hard to point you in the right direction. Hang in there....the roughest is almost over!
