I think I figured something out that may actually help me quit my addiction to vicodin & nicotine and I wanted to throw it out there in case it could help someone else.
I have been addicted to vicodin for about 2 years now taking 5-7 750mg pills a day. I have also been a pack a day smoker for a very long time. Both addictions have been a nightmare to manage. After several attempts to quit, and I mean SEVERAL, I think I found a new way to tackle this problem.
I am sure it is not going to sound ideal, and even harder, but I am out of options.
I have decided to quit both drugs cold turkey at the same time. Addiction is addiction and the worst physical symptoms are over in about the same amount of time, so why not just go through this hell once? I tried this out today and found that the nicotine withdrawl symptoms covered up the vicodin withdrawl symptoms & cravings totally, except for the running nose. But I can deal with that. There is ALOT more support out there for smoking than vicodin addiction as well. I am gaining most of my support for cold turkey quitting at www.whyquit.com.
Just an idea I wanted to pass on. Good luck to everyone. I know how hard this is and what a complete nightmare it is living this way.
