First time quitting Norco cold turkey 10-10/325 daily

I need advice and opinions I'm new here so don't know where to start. I'm 23 started using norco for fun one or two here and there and over about 2 years it spiraled our of control. I'm not taking 10 of the 10.
/325 a day sometimes up to 12. I have klonopin will this help with the withdrawls? I feel exhausted not hungry I feel like I have a cold coming on. Idk if it was my bodies way of saying enough but the norco wouldn't even make me high anymore it just made me feel sick. It's been about 24 hours since my last 3 pills. Any advice would help.

Hi well by now your into acute withdrawal so your in the grips of it the thing to remember is it is not going to be as bad as you thought this is 1/3 phyical and 2/3 mental  I say this a lot but  ''you just got to be pk without being ok for a wile'' you will need to keep hydrated gatoaid is a good choice because it has electrolytes in it.. you may want to pick up some movies so you have something to do all night most people dont sleep...for most it is a 4 to 5 day deal so it is alot like the flu  also a hot soak will help with most of the symptoms like the ''creapycrawling'' and relax you get some epsom salt for the bath it helps with the restless legs  with time you will get better physically but it is the mental part that takes the work ...you have the disease of addiction there is no cure but it is arrestable and then recovery is possible...I have tryed many things over the years but the only thing that helped me was the rooms of N/A  ...you dont have to do this alone you will be welcome with a hug and be around people that have gone threw what your going threw you can make some good friendships of clean people that will keep you up when your down you can start any time you like the only requirement is the desire to get clean dont forget this critical part of recovery nothing changes if nothing changes it takes effort to stay clean.........Gnarly

hey there and welcome-

Congrats on getting off the pills!  It is a road to nowhere good and often ends in losing everything that is important to you- sometimes your life.  You are young and have many years and choices ahead of you.  Just know that willpower is not enough to concur the disease that is addiction.  You are going to need some aftercare- there are many options for this including NA/AA, church, Smart recovery, counselling etc.  I encourage you to check out all of these options and find the one that works for you.  Willpower only lasts so long.  The addict brain is baffling and you need an arsenal of tools to battle this.  Surrender to the detox- the cold like symptoms are classic w/d.  You will feel pretty shi#*y for about a week but it gets better from there.  Then you need to set yourself up for success by severing all connections, and surrounding yourself with others that are living in recovery.
Congratulations on your brave choice.  Keep making brave choices and you will be amazed at how your life transforms.
Sending support...

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.  Good for you that you have decided to quit now.  I can assure you based on my own experience, that if your were to continue down that road, it gets worse, much worse.  You should have just a few days of feeling cruddy, and then start feeling better.  You will need to make sure that you cut all your sources for pills.  Then, it will not be easy to relapse in a weak moment. Please keep posting with any questions, or if you need some encouragement and support.  Most all of us have been where you are, and we can help. Take care! All the best.

Thanks everybody I'm on day 2 and just feel like I'm getting a cold. Every other time I've tried quitting I've failed because I didn't want to. This time I'm ready! I hope!!!

The life of a pill addict sux!! Simple as that. Yes there are "good times" but the longer you use the fewer and further between they will become. YOU are doing the RIGHT thing. On day seven, not gonna lie it was NO picnic but it was worth it. Starting to feel my life coming back and it feels AWESOME! All good advise from the above posters, take it easy, hydrate, hydrate and then hydrate some more!!!! Like until your teeth start floating lol. Ride the roller coaster. It will be an emotional one but again TOTALLY worth it. You've made the decision and that's great! Now stick to it and pretty soon you will be free!! Keep posting on here! It REALLY does help! Peace and best of luck!!!

Hi there,
I think we're in the same boat only I have been doing this for a lot longer.  It's so easy to get sucked back into this merry go round so if you can get any counselling to find out why you are abusing the pills it would really help you.  You don't want to waste your life away starting and stopping.
You are young and the withdrawal won't be too bad but every time it just gets worse.
I am on day 2 too.  Make sure you keep hydrated.  It's really important.

Thanks so much for that it's very encouraging to actually have someone who's been thru it tell you it's going to be ok. And your right it is a vicious cycle!! Be high 3 weeks straight wasting money and then people run out and your like dying for days until you can get your hands on it again. What kind of living is that! Just hope I have the willpower
