why am I being tempted?
so for awhile i was on oxy contin and got off recently, well I deleted my connections and thought it was fine, then they blew up my phone and tempted me and i fell for it a few times, NOW i have blocked my old dealers and i just got a text from dude saying "this is my moms phone so say my name before texting anything, do you need anything?" Im so pissed cuz ive tryed so hard to change my playmates and playground which btw is not as easy as it seems.. Im frustrated becuase now i wanna use again..I know the devil is doing this to me.. hes to powerful.. Im not in withdrawl and havent used in a month.. FML

I can't avoid people in my town, so I told them point blank, "Don't talk to me about drugs, don't come around me or even speak to me ON drugs." The opiate users that meant never talk to me, because they are always high. Some of them hold a grudge and tell other drug addicts I'm a scoundrel and self-centered. I hope they all believe that it's true. I think you gotta just say it out loud to them and make it real, you know you don't want it, tell them you will stop them from asking one way or another, so don't push it.
Staying clean is simple - that is, what you need to do is simple, doing it isn't.
I agree with the above - change your phone number. A hassle? Yes, but it takes a lot of work to live a life in recovery. And changing the number is the easy part. You need to get support from a trusted friend or family member - you need to tell your secret. I'm not talking about shouting from the mountain top that you're an addict. Just tell people you can trust, and they will become your support unit. If you keep your secret you will relapse. Finally, get to aftercare - NA meetings. This forum is a great place, but you need to talk to other addicts face to face. They will support you, guide you, and tell you when you're full of BS.
The desire to use never goes away; it's a life long struggle, but gets easier to manage the longer you're clean. You've been through this before; if you don't do anything different how can you expect different results?

I like the idea of changing your number. Its a good boundary. I feel for you because I know how it is when your young. Everywhere you go it's party time. You know people who know people who know people. Vic is right about having someone clean to call when people do manage to bust through your boundaries. You just have be on your game and outsmart them. I am so proud that you made it to 30 days and so sorry I missed it. Now you have to make 60 so I can post it! You have the strength and the smarts to get through this. Dig deep. It's just a trigger.

I sure hope you are getting some out side Support..These are the times when you need to make a clean call. Life is going to be out there and we will see people all messed up on whatever. Take it just for today and keep making changes for the best. The more knowledgeable you can become about this Addiction the better you will feel and know how do deal with these types of temptations..Keep setting up those BOUNDARIES and SUPPORT..
