Hi Ang - you are doing great.  Cold and weak are easy to deal with.  Grab a cozy blanket and curl up on the couch with a good book.  If you are feeling weak and tired - get some good sleep.  I never slept so much the first couple of weeks - the bags under my eyes looked great - went away.  Of course, once I went back to work, that changed fast!  Have a fantastic holiday weekend and keep us posted on your progress.

Ang your doing great keep your faith and you will push thew this you want it bad and thats what it takes...sub was a good choice for you coming off the methadone so just hang in there dont read anything into your withdrawal it will be what its going to be just take it one day at a time...good luck and God bless.....your friend Mark

Well then, don't look a gift horse in the mouth! Count yourself lucky and try not to dwell on it.

That being said, Suboxone has a long half life so it may creep up on you but don't concern yourself with it until it is time to concern yourself with it.

Hi Ang,

I am sorry that I don't know your whole story. How long were you on Suboxone and how much were you taking? That, and several other things, will determine the length and severity of your withdrawal.

Hi Ang,

It seems that everyone has a different w/d experience with suboxone.  I think that a big part of that has to do with the dose and really more the length of time.  I took sub for years, but recall when I first started stopping after a month and not going through anything except for maybe a case of the runs.  I started back on it because I feared relapse and about a year later, ran out while on vacation on 2mg.  I went into a severe withdrawal - it was horrible.  Went back on for nearly 3 more years and finally detoxed off of 2-3mg.  I had some assistance with meds for the first 8 days, so it was not bad at all.  After that, I was very tired for about another week or two, but felt better every day.  The big thing for me was that I was so cold all the time - that lasted for probably 6 weeks - and is normal.  I had to laugh because it was this time last year that I went through that and in the middle of summer I was running a heater in my office at work.  That's OK, what ever it takes.  You are doing great.  Keep moving in the right direction and post if you have any more questions.  After you are through this experience, you will be able to help others by sharing your experience.
