Hi,
As a student nurse I should know the definitive likelihood of what my statement suggests, but would love some positive reassurance on the matter from a doctor or other expert. Below is the scenario, please could someone respond...?
Brief (no more than 5-10 seconds) of unprotected cunnilingus on a sex worker of unknown HIV status.
Protected vaginal sex with the sex worker
Receptive Oral given from the sex worker
Sex worker spits in the mouth of the receiver
What would the likelihood of HIV transmission be, and would you recommend testing in this scenario? Would the person need to be worried in this situation?
The recipient has experienced no symptoms, although the above mentioned scenario took place only a week ago. Other than some loose stools the next day (which may be from another source, I.E. curry only hours before) there was no symptoms, could the loose stools be a possibility of HIV?
Many Thanks,
M
