What's in a name?

Your screen/usernames often leave me wondering - just like those vanity car license plates that spell out cryptic messages. So I would like to know more about your screen name - is there a story behind it that you would like to share?

My name - Lulu - isn't what I started out with.  A couple months into this when I realized I would be sticking around here, I thought everyone else has a *fun* name, why shouldn't I do the same?

We have a dear friend who has a habit of calling all of us women friends *Lulu* when we gather to play cards.   Alzheimers runs in his family and he often says knowing all of us by one name now will be helpful later on.    He uses it as a term of endearment part of the time and as a curse other times.  :-)

I also think of this MiSerable disease as one lulu of a hand to be dealt.

Just plain *Lulu* was already taken so I put my birthyear behind the name - hence Lulu54.

So in a nutshell, that's the story behind my username.

What's your story?

Well I do not have any children and Jack is my dog -  He is my four legged child who gets my butt up every day and makes me move so I thought it appropriate to use his name!  The 516 well that is an old story it is actually my wedding anniversary to my ex hubby -  we divorced - wish we hadn't and while we have both moved on -  it is still a special day.

Great thread!  So many clever ideas behind all of your nicknames. :)

Mine isn't nearly so interesting.  At the time I chose it (to use on another forum last fall, I had been working as a volunteer at a dog and animal center. In addition to my own two dogs, I had the care of a bunch of other people's dogs as well (30 at one point, more than half of them 200ish pound newfoundlands), plus the therapy animals that lived at the center (goats, mini-horse, mini-donkey, and rabbits). The week I had my big "crash", I worked something like 90 hours in 7 days and felt like the official "mom" as I had to give meds and shots, break up fights, dish out tons of food and even had a few visits from the vet to coordinate.

I don't work there anymore as they now feel I am worthless to them, but I do miss the dogs and hope to be involved in a similar environment again one day.  Someone has suggested that I train service dogs for PwMS and maybe one day I will.  :)

My husband gave me the idea of using 'Mandella77' as my forum name. Mandella is actually a nickname that some people call me and the 77 is just the year that I was born.  After reading the other posts I wish that I had more of an exciting story!!!  Picking a "nick name" isn't easy!!

This was so much fun to read I figured I would join in.

Mine is for my daughter. Depending on her mood i would always start with lil miss. (lil miss sassy pants, grumpy, etc....) you get the picture. She hates it and that is why i love it so much. LOL ended it with her birthdate.

Not to unique like some but I can remember it easily.
