Syphilis?

Long story short, encounter with a stranger, protected penetrative brief unprotected oral. This was exactly 3 months and a week ago. (90-odd days)

About a week ago I discovered a flesh colored bump at the base of my penis. Firm, no redness, small, pea-sized. Thought it was a pimple at first then upon close inspection I realized it had no white head, and was actually beneath the skin (I do not shave nor wax.

Fast forward to yesterday, I stupidly tried to squeeze it out. It bled a bit and I stopped. This morning, the growth has become red and moist with a colourless ***** liquid.

My question is: what are the chances this is syphilis?? I'm going crazy!

Thank you again for your help.. I'd hate to go into another bout of visiting the GU clinic every other week like I did at the start of the past 90 days. This forum has really helped me keep sane over the past 3 months

Thank you and all the other posters!

sorry, didn't mean for it to sound like it could still be an STD I was just indicating it could be many things... honestly I don't think it is an STD. you popped it so it could be infected from you doing that.

I've ruled out herpes as it's been a week and it's only open now because I (very stupidly) popped it

That makes alot of sense!

Just one last question (sorry) when you say it can still be STD related.. Which ones are a possibility?

Thanks again for all your responses you have no idea how at ease I feel now :)

also, if you are really worried about syphilis you can get a blood test done now and expect conclusive results. that may be your best option so you can move on.

the incubation period does not mean blisters... it means 90 days before it moves to the next stage.

That is correct but if you were to contract syphilis via protected sex then any blister would appear at the site of infection there for your balls or possibly thighs.

Women who have syphilis and don't know it are usually those who have an open sore on the inside of their vagina... which is why they would go undiagnosed therefore it wouldn't be as likely to get it through protected sex as your shaft is what is in contact with her inner vagina.

Not sure what I would call that, which is why you need to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.. could be anything from an STD related to a yeast infection or something else.

(and it's basically a raw "open" wound now)

Thanks for your reassuring comment. It has settled since this morning but is worryingly dark red (maroon), 1.5 cm in diameter, moist and shiny. Not sure if you'd call that a blister...

That's what scares me. And although I'm more than 90 days away from possible exposure.. I've read that the incubation period is up to 90 days?

But please tell me: a condom does not cover my pubic area, thus I could theoretically have still been infected right? And is it common for chancres to appear in the pubic region?

Thanks in advance!

this doesn't sound anything like Syphilis, besides it is 90 days from the encounter if you contracted syphilis you would have developed and open sore way sooner then now.

Also you didn't have a risk via protected sex and you only had a very low risk from the unprotected oral for gono, trich, ngu, and even lower risk for syphilis, HSV...

you tried popping the bump you should leave it alone and see a doctor for a diagnosis... could be normal.
