condom weakening?

Is toothpaste a water based lubricant? can it be used as a lubricant on latex condoms ??
Does condom failure mean breakage/slippage of condom or does it also mean weakening of condom which goes unnoticed?
Does using toothpaste as lubricant weaken the condom?

Thanks.

plenty of studies on condom deterioration and weakening from non-water based substances being used with condoms on pubmed.gov for more reading.

no, toothpaste isn't a lubricant for sex.

using a non-recommended lube can weaken the condom so that  microscopic holes are present to allow std's and sperm to go through.
