Unless you are extremely small-boned, you weight seems about right. To lose the abdominal fat, try taking ballet lessons. If that doesn't work, nothing will.
Erk. I hate when I hear "nothing will". Keep in mind even in controlled environments even poison can keep you alive (chemo). The secret is anything making a noticeable change is overly excessive. (looking at you "5 hour energy with toxic levels of vitamin B).
It sounds like in your skinnier years your back muscles were weakened so your body could not support itself. So your back curved to achieve equilibrium. A great example is the picture examples of back curvatures of aging and as stomach heavy people get more and more overweight. I don't know how you can straighten out your back without risking causing major injury- including using a chiropractor.
Second is the nitrous oxide/chemo approach. Being so skinny your actually an ideal candidate for liposuction. Keep in mind its a poisonous approach that will give ideal health benefit if used sparingly, like some aspirin for the occasional headache. Take too much out AND/OR too fast and your going to need a tummy tuck as well, so be careful.
Wow - what's all the "gloom and doom" over a bit of tummy bulge?
I certainly can't see ballet as the only means of reducing tummy fat; nor would liposuction necessarily be called for.
Are you making sure you are eating the right types of food? Don't forget that "good" fats are necessary to a healthy diet and can can help reduce tummy bulge.
In addition, maybe you could try yoga for exercise a couple days a week. Yoga is a great exercise for lengthening and strengthening muscles. You might also want to have your cortisol levels checked, since high levels of cortisol tend to cause belly fat. High stress levels cause high cortisol. Yoga is great for relaxing and it's awesome for toning muscles, which is often what's needed, rather than "losing weight", since you can't spot reduce.
Keeping your back straight and shoulders back (stand up straight) also reduces the appearance of belly bulge; so does "sucking in your tummy" - that also helps keep your muscles toned.
Thanks for the advice I have tried yoga before but maybe the type I tried was not good enough who knows. I am not stressed about the stomach fat at all I just want to eliminate it for myself its just comes from being a perfectionist=)
NOT interested in any surgeries
I don't blame you for not wanting a surgery. I think these suggestions are a bit drastic for your situation, so best to ignore them.
I think the proper kind of exercise will help you immensely.
I know about drastic measures from the few doctors I went too when my weight hit close to 340 pounds.
Gastric bypass and lap band surgeries are extreme as are diet pills that put your thermogenesis drive into high gear so your metabolism increases. Those are all forms of anorexia thrust into different forms to make it presentable.
I vehemently disagree with your suggestion. Checking Cortisol levels was pretty sound I will admit. The rest of it completely ignores the basic truth of unchangeable body composition threw healthy means. The next phase in the logic of not burning calories the right way is to tell her that she is lazy.
You are free to disagree with me, but I think you might need to take another look at the situation. Her 5'3" and 120 lbs, with a bit of tummy bulge is considerably different from your previous 340 lbs. She's not even over weight.
There are times when gastric bypass and lap band are called for; there are also instances in which pills may be needed. I don't agree that these are forms of anorexia. Anorexia is an extreme eating disorder. That isn't what we are discussing here.
The weight loss method should match the situation at hand. And let's not forget that many people lose hundreds of pounds simply by eating properly and getting an adequate amount of exercise. I will always advocate losing weight through proper diet and exercise first.
I'm sorry that you feel I was telling allybaby she's lazy - that's about as far from the truth as it comes. Different people require different methods for losing weight. If you try one thing and it doesn't work after a reasonable amount out of time, there's nothing wrong with trying something else; our purpose here, is to help people by supplying ideas, support, and motivation in order to help them reach their goals. Often, all it takes is a small change, such a different type of exercise or food, for a person to achieve the desired effect.
I did not feel like she was telling me i was lazy......I was looking for diet tips and exercises to lose a little bit of weight I do not want to lose a lot for that would be unhealthy. I am looking for things that worked for other people. However, I do not want surgery there is no point to it only if i had to lose a lot I can live with the little extra flab. Weight loss surgery I believe is the last method to lose weight and its only for individuals that have a lot to lose. Thanks though for the advice
Diet tips:
1. Cut out White bread.
2. Cut out soda's
3. Drink water whenever you can
4. Cut out red meats
5. No Sugar over 5 grams
6. Portion Control
7. If you drink beer try to cut back
8. NO MCDEES!!!! TOTALLY BAD BAD BAD
I hope this helps you all = ) Good Luck! <3
You've got a lot of the basics there, but I don't necessarily agree with cutting out all red meat. Red meats have a lot of protein and are a major source of vitamin B12 and other nutrients. You should, however, always opt for the lean cuts and make sure you keep your portions reasonable. Much better to cut out the beer, which is empty calories.
You could add: eat lots of fruits and veggies (mostly veggies); low/no fat dairy, nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains; moderate exercise.......
I'm definitely not an expert, but if you're already doing core-strengthening exercises, maybe add some stretching, specifically stretches aimed at lengthening the muscles in your abs. (If you already stretch, add some time to it. Aim for 20 minutes a day.) Or, heck, Yoga works.
For proper stretching, take it slow, however. Be careful. Stretch to a point that is slightly uncomfortable (only slightly) and hold for a slow count of 30 seconds at least. (I use a medicine ball and lay down on my back, then stretch my arms and legs out. Side stretches will work, too.)
Having a flat stomach is really difficult to achieve. Working towards one is great, as long as you do it in a healthy, safe manner.
P.S. You can eat at McDonald's, just not as much. Deprivation is silly and leads to early burn out.
I totally agree that "yoga works"............
Also agree that deprivation is silly, leads to burn out, ultimately giving up......
