Thank you vicki595. Today was better than usual. I was able to get out with the kids, see a movie, do bowling, and go for ice-cream. Yay!!! I am drained now but feel better I was out and about. I finally did my make-up as well which I haven't for about a month. Almost couldn't remember how to put it on....lol.... Tomorrow will be better. I have to tell myself that as I will be taking nothing but tramadol tomorrow.
It looks like you're doing everything you can. I'm very familiar with the energy loss. A few years ago I started swimming again and that helped! Now, I have motivation issues, too, so it's really a PIA to drag myself to the pool but I feel so good after that I just do it...
Amino acids will help you a lot. Scroll down this page and look for the "health pages". There's an Amino Acid Protocol that you should read. Make sure you're getting all B Vits as well.
I'm glad the Aleve is working for you. That usually happens once we're off of RX pain meds. Stay close; there's lots of support here!
Thank you Pat. I was on pain management for close to a decade. So this is no surprise to me either that it seems so hard. I am stopping the methadone after today and using just the tramadol and will do a taper on that as well to get myself off of it asap. :)
Thank you Vicki, I am on a hefty vitamin pack from trader joes which I started 4 days ago and I am beginning to notice a little relief from it. My appetite ***** right now. It seems like anything I eat goes right through me or comes back up. So I am doing mostly liquids. I am up with my kids all day but it's hard to keep the energy level where I need it to be for them. I found myself drinking coffee and redbull yesterday to help just a little bit and I hate coffee but was drinking it. I have also picked up smoking again after 7yrs of not smoking. UGH it just seems horrible. I am feeling the pain in my legs again and that is from the bad car accident but I would prefer to feel the pain rather than not feel anything at all. I am on the last day of methadone and going to stop that tomorrow. I am going to keep myself in check when it comes to the tramadol and taper down off of that to keep myself from becoming dependent onto that as well. In my state it is not a narcotic but from what I read online it is as bad as some of the others out there. That is why I want nothing to do with it as well. I did take some Aleve yesterday to help with the leg pain and for the 1st time in my life it actually worked!!! I was shocked. Nothing over the counter ever seem to work before and I feel like my mind had convinced me that it wouldn't. Until now of course.
Thank you for that and I created my own taper schedule. If my doctor had his way I would still be on a lot of the meds and reduce at a very slow rate. The only meds I am on right now is the methadone at 2.5mg a day and 100mg of tramadol. Otherwise I haven't had anything else for almost 30 days now.
Ugh
I have done similar things. I tried to use one drug to get off another and ended up worse off than when I started.
I agree with Vicki. I think maybe stop the Methadone and then taper the Tramadol.
I have been battling for close to 2 years and now have 2 weeks clean.
Keep fighting because you WILL do it.
Hugs
Pat
Hi- It's going to take a while for your energy to return; probably a few months realistically. You can't rush it but you can help it along...
You have to move. You just can't stay on the sofa thinking that rush of energy is going to tap you on the shoulder lol because it's not! You have to go after it so make a schedule and put it in to practice. Your diet will make a huge difference along with vitamins and minerals and amino acids. Do you walk? That's the best exercise for you right now and combined with caring for your home and children, it should give you the movement you need.
I think it's your decision on stopping the Methadone and Tramadol now. I know you're in a hurry but you shouldn't be. Maybe you can stop the Methadone and then taper off the Tramadol...
You've posted a taper schedule and we are no allowed to advice on that. You are on multiple medications which complicates matters. Follow doctors precisely as he knows your case.
