Inga, where in Florida are you ? I'm in broward . Message me. I'm also interested in the blood pressure mess that were mentioned. Anything to alleviate my WD when I wean all the way down wld b great . Can u find out the name eleventhing? Ty. I was under the impression that subs had a certain time period that u tool them for and weaned down. I don't know why they wldnt of given u a script for something.
Yep, they sent me home from the hospital with nodda. I thought it was a little Strange but she gave me this long speech how subs have long half life and I would be fine. It took me about ten hours after my last sub bf I was in full withdrawals. Fun.I was there Tues, weds, thurs and they gave me the boot Friday. It was state run-the only one in Fla..so I guess you get what you (in my case don't$) pay for.

oh btw sickness does not last 2 weeks, I think it depends on how long you've been doing the drugs. I was doing them for 4 years and I had to take the blood pressure meds for about three months before I felt 100%
Hey, I'm a recovered heroin addict, and the way I got clean was my dad rescued me off the streets and took me to a doctor I told he about my addiction and she told me about a new study of a blood pressure medication.. I can't remember the name of it.. sorry, but anyways i took it and I had no withdrawl symptoms. I would NOT recommend subs because there is a better way.
U r very brave. So they started u on subs in the hospital but didn't send you HomE w any ? Maybe u r in WD from them? How long were u in hospital and how long on the subs? How was the WD in the hospital ? And high five on the childbirth ! Both my kids came via c sec & I was a wimp after !
Typically the physical stuff lasts around 5 to 7 days (I wasn't so typical as mine went on for about 2 weeks). And that's when the mental side of withdrawal really kicks in but the symptoms can be managed by a lot of different home remedies. What is your intent here? To give up all the drugs? If that's the case, it is possible to quit cold turkey - YES you will be uncomfortable for a while, but it will pass. Kind of like a really bad flu. And as I said, then you can manage those symptoms with various things - supplements, vitamins, and most importantly, some form of aftercare (i.e therapy, NA/AA, addictionologists, etc.)
And there are a lot of members here who have experience with the sub route, and I'm sure they can offer more insight into that process. It tends to get pretty quiet here on the weekends though but keep checking in I'm sure someone with that experience will respond to you.
