What to do now

My friend that helped when I had run out time at the end of my script got arrested. He is in for "altering a script"  I don't know what to do because I have his baby here and his 2 kids at school are getting off at 3. The judge says 500$ cash only bond. He doesn't have it. I do. But I would love to see this guy get clean. But I care for him and his kids. I don't think I would ever see the money again though. Its' just hard to see the kids that get hurt from our behavior. I'm certainly guilty of my share of stealing myself away for my service to my addiction.
Should I , or shouldn't I that is the question.

Thanks for all the comments. I think I will donate 100$ and if God chooses to help find the other 400$  I do need some money for my vacation this july so can't see letting that much go . I do have more money now that I'm clean.

I can actually fly with my son and husband to see my brother who lives in Alaska on a lake you fly into. so that will take some $$.  But no $ once we land. thank god I dont have to manage my pills when I'm there. I will have beautiful memories!!

Any time he spends in jail will come off as paid.  And if you have help for the kids this may be the kindest thing you ever did for him, to let him sit and detox a bit, maybe he will find that he really wants to quit.  God Bless on making the descision.

this is a tough one....I don't think i could leave a friend in jail ...Also because i have made mistakes too, and would hate to be locked up because i am a good person, it was my addiction talking......now, he will have to pay for what he has done, and maybe that will wake him up...my opinon is keeping him in jail is not...

Mimi is right, he needs to be the one ready to stop.  Are you ready to be taking care of his kids?  Or what will happen to them if you don't bail him out?

That is a lot of cash and if you won't see it again, that is a tough call, yet since children are involved, wow, I would probably do it if it was me, but that is just me.

I hate to say it but you should help him and get him out of jail. Anything you do may not work unless HE is ready to get clean and it doesn't seem like he is.
