It awesome that you have had enough. I'm glad you have tapered down to 4 - 6. That's a lot better than 15. Hang close to this site for support. There are a lot of people who care. There's a brotherhood and sisterhood here. Unless you been there done that its hard to understand what an addict goes through. There is not an addict out there that wouldn't love to be clean and sober. You can make it through this journey. I'll be rooting and praying for you.

This is a milestone decision and I can promise you one thing. If you are serious about getting clean this will be the best decision and best choice of your life. The chains of addiction will drag you to hell if you don't stop. All addicts will stop at one point or the other. The only difference is how much you will lose before finally stopping. Will it cost you your job, your husband or wife, your kids, and ultimately your life. There are not a lot of old addicts out there because they are dead. I won't BS you the next week will be tough especially physically although I don't know what you are addicted to. I would guess some sort of pain medication. If you've been taking your DOC for a long time you will get these awful flu like symptoms. They suck casue there worse than the flu but it will go away. For many day 3 is one of the worse. The key is to not give in after a couple days. I promise you, you can find yourself again. I was terrible addicted to opiates (500 mg to 700 mg of Oxy Cottin a day. I often took two 80 mg tablets several times a day. At a later date I also had a terrible detox from Xanax. If I knew how terrible the Xanax WD's would be I would never have ever taken it. I'm not trying to be negative because I believe you can do this and take your life back. I started my journey of sobriety on 3/13/13 and I am so grateful that I finally made that choice. Life is still hard at times but ever since I got clean my life is a pure joy. My best day high does not even compare to my worse day sober. Living a sober life is awesome. I don't have to worry about running out of pills, I don't have to worry about WD's. I don't have to worry about where I'm going to get more money to pay for pills. You can do this. Stay close to this site for advice. Make a plan for some type of aftercare. Getting sober is tough but you have to have a plan to stay sober. If you don't have a plan it is really likely you will relapse. Addicts do not have to relapse. It happen a lot but it doesn't have to happen. God Bless
