I think i am in big trouble and need help.
Hello, i was looking for some help online and i came across this site, please i implore you to give me your honest advice on my situation.
I am addicted to pain meds but not by choice, i have been taking percocets and oxicontin for 7 years now for pain due to back surgeries i have had done.
am up to 5 10mg perc a day and 2 20 mg oc a day, not bad to many that do it the normal way.
last year i started sorting my oc's because i was depressed and they made me happy, but then they suitched to op and now that cannot be done.
so i turn to percs and now i think i have a bigger problem than before.
ok here we go.
past 2-1/2 months my head started to burn and hurt, just the side of where i snorted the pills.
now my face feels a little numb aswell, nothing bad, but i am really scared.
it burns dab enough that the only thing that can stop the burning is more snorting of percs.
am afraid to tell my family doc cus i am also going to a pain clinic and i dont know if my family doctor will tell on me to the pain clinic.
i cant afford to do that since i cannot function without meds, my back is really in bad shape :(
so i still need the meds, i started taking them oraly, but the burning wouldt go away unless i snorted them, so i am stuck at snorting atm.
i was told that it could be nerve damage and that a pain management could take care of it, but i dont want to tell my pain clinic cus i am afraid of being labeled an addict and not being able to have my meds to be able to at least functions due to my bad back.
i hope i can get some answers to help guide me in the right direction.
again i dont mind taking them orally like am supposed to, but it burns if i dont.
please oh please help.

You know what? You're in PAIN!! You're a PM patient! I get it!! And I hear you!! It's just fine...you need the meds and I'll tell you what: there are MANY people who are on pain meds for life...there's a whole forum about that (see Pain Management forum) and they're admittedly dependent. They seldom use the word addicted and that's okay...a rose is rose...I'm cool with that too! It's horrible to live in pain!!!
It's great you stopped snorting...I know it's hard to stop...and great that you spoke with a Pharmacist...it's obvious you're trying here...I think the Ocean solution is just great...it's good you got that!! I think it's soothing...
Have you talked to the PM doc about a med change? Maybe the current med isn't working as well any more. Sometimes it helps to "change things up"!
Vacuuming helps on a number of levels!!!

also sorry about before, just bugged me since i came here for some help and uplifting help.
to those that dont think i am admitting that i have a problem.
i do have a problem with addiction, i never denied it at all, my main concern is not the addiction at all, but more of the problem the addiction by SNORTING has caused.
i dont want to and have no intention of getting of the meds, some are ok being in pain all the time, but i am not.
i have 4 kids and i want to be able to do things with them that i cant do with out my meds, its just not possible.
i will continue my meds, thats not the help i came here seeking, maybe i chosed the wrong place after all,i have a problem, am addicted to meds but that is not my problem really, i dont mind as i cant function with out them, my problem is the head burning and pain and as of now a small facial numbness.
again, i have no intention of getting of my meds, none unless they have something for me that can make me function to the degree i can at the moment, and so far they havent told me anything yet.
also i do have a strong will,you may rool your eyes at will here if you like, but i havent snorted 1 grain of med as of yet since i posted this, i got the ocean spray that was suggested and it helps a bit, i also talked to the pharmacist and explained everything to her, she told me that my nasals where trying to heal and thats why i have so much discomfort, so i guess is cool that they will kinda heal in time.
also going to get some antibiotics tomorrow from the doc, that should help if i have any infection to get it cleared.
anyways, like i said many times now, i have no intention of quiting my meds, i did however stopped snorting them, which was the root cause of the problem am facing, and trust me, i aint doing it again, i just have to much to live for now a days.
